Upgrade from 2015 to 2017

Hello, I have an opportunity to upgrade my 2015 TRD Sport (with 26k miles) to a 2017 TRD Sport (both manual transmission) for $6,900. I was wondering if you guys think it is worth the upgrade or I'm better off sticking with my 2015? Type away!

If you have to ask you should do it.

I'm assuming the "upgrade" also comes with a new loan that pushes the payoff date out 2 more years so your going to end up paying more than $7k (unless the new loan is a better rate than your existing loan).

 

Keep the 15' and use the 7k on something else more worthy like a 4Runner Trail Edition

 

all depends OP.

I would LOVE to have the quietness of the cab of the 3rd gen and the extra mpg wouldnt hurt... but 7k worth it... eh not worth it IMO.

Keep the 2nd, i don't consider a 3rd gen an upgrade. Unless you like pretty gadgets. Keep what's reliable!

IMO, the $7k doesnt seem worth it. Id keep the 15

 

Expanding on the "not worth it" 18/23 for the 2017 and 16/21 for the 2015. Call it 21 vs 19 assume 100,000 miles of driving and $3 gas and the 2017 saves you $1500.

As to the quieter cab the 2017 will be way louder than a 2015 that has had actual sound proofing done to it. DIY is less than $1K and probably you could have an audio shop do it full labor for no more than $2K.

OP, you can do way more with your 2015 or some other part of your life by saving the $7K and doing something else with it. But as nd4spdbh says it is really up to you and what you like!

 

Keep the 15 it's a proven truck with a solid drivetrain
