Fox Level 2 - 2.5 Setup w/2.0 Remote Res.

I'm looking to go with the Fox Level 2 setup from HS which is the Fox 2.5 CO up front and the 2.0 with Rear Remote Res. My question is that I only want to go 1" higher on my TRD Offroad. HS gives an option for regular and extended so should I go with regular or extended in case I go up to 3" in the future.

They give two part #'s for both:

• FOX 2.5 Factory Coilovers (880-02-361 or 883-02-025) - Preset for 2” lift (for 2016 models 1" lift)
• FOX 2.0 Performance rear shocks w/resi (985-24-117 or 985-26-117)

Confused with which ones I should get and any info is appreciated. Also do all sets come in 2" preset?

You'll need uca's if you go extended. And if you plan on going 2.5" or more of lift uca's will be needed for correct alignment.
3rd gens already sit an 1" taller than 2nd gen Tacomas, so a coilover preset for ~2" of lift will lift our trucks ~1".

 

So even if I leave it at 2", because they are the extended versions I will need UCAs?

 

ive been looking at the same setup. you have a '16 so youll be getting 1 inch as @lonzorizo and @HeadStrong Off-Road website stated. if only sticking with the preset get the regular coilovers and not the extended travel ones if you don't want to get the UCA's. Extended travel and/or more lift= new uca's

Will do. I just put on 265/75/16 KO2s and that 1" inch lift will make it look perfect. I'll let you know as soon as I get them on.

 

might as well get the extended travel and new uca's. extended are not more expensive and the uca's put this kit at $20xx, only a couple hundred more than without them. it also includes a add a lift so that will give you lift on the rear if I'm not mistaken

Yup. Just do it right the first time. Extra travel and correct alignment, get your caster in the 3.x range giving you more clearance for tires.

 

Does anyone have torque specs for the front and rear shocks?

Mopar2 I haven't done it yet as I'm trying to justify $1,500 on a 1" lift, though I know it's a great quality upgrade. I spoke with Marie at Headstrong and she mentioned that you can go with the 985-24-116 shocks for 0"-1.5" of lift if your not adding aal. Apparently FOX is conservative with their lengths so you can still put on the

$282 985-24-117 Reservoir Shock CD Adjuster

985-24-117 for 2"-3" of lift even if you don't add an aal. I will be making the decision this week and will post if I do it.

Help me make the decision. I still haven't found anyone to post this setup yet.

 

Are you doing it for Lift or ride quality? If it's ride quality.... I can assure you a cheap lift is just that... $1500 isn't shit to have some sweet coilovers!

 

That's what I'm thinking. I want both ride quality and to level it out but I prefer to do it right rather than go the 5100 route.

 

I've been breaking my teeth on a stiff ass Toytec lift for 5yrs. Silver hard ass Springs. Fuck that I'm done, just got an Icon, Dakar, etc set up. Waiting on install

 

Very nice, post some pics once it's in. I figured stick with Fox, Icon or King otherwise it's going to ride like shit.

 

This is a pretty good option here. Even LR Uca's can let you run the extended fronts. IIRC...

 

I don't see how you couldn't run the ext version, little more carefully, till you can get some Uca?? Please someone correct me if I am wrong
