I'm having the same "issue" with my service department. They won't just do a TSB reflash, unless you claim something is wrong with your vehicle.

I have a Limited, with the stock Japanese shocks. Are the stock Bilsteins in the OR better? What would be the difference in the ride between the two?

You can use higher octane, but chances are you are going to have an incomplete combustion, as it will be delayed with the higher octanage. And if where you live the 89 octane is $.20 more per gallon than the 87 octane, and you currently get an average of, say, 20mpg, you need to be getting at least 22mpg with the 89 octane to justify the difference in price.

I went to the dealer for my first oil change today. I went in at 5,000 miles and they brought the truck back out and said they rotated tired and topped of fluids but no oil change. I was kinda pissed but they said its done at 10gs. I did not want to go that long. I brought it back today and they tried the same shit. I told then to change it I am leaving town and have no time to wait. I asked about the tranny update but they wanted my truck for the day for that. Such shit. Sucks at a dealership, they cant just do what you ask. They could plug it right in and see if I have it. So what ever oil is changed and then at the 10gs I will do it my self. I have like 6600 on it now. I do not trust a dealer at all. Only way to make sure your stuff is right is to do it yourself. What kinda of oil you guys using. On a side not my truck seems to be running strong.

Only thing is since the oil changes are free, it makes sense you need to stick to their schedule.

The tires are just as quiet as the radial AT3 that came on the Sport.

forget the mpg argument thats neither here nor there. but higher octane does not prevent full combustion. "Octane" is just the thresh-hold at which fuel combusts through compression rather than the spark from the spark plug. Lower octane means less resistance to pressure and a greater likelihood of combustion by pressure. it does not prevent detonation by pressure at the point it is suppose to combust.

I get 11-12. I have a manual, lift and bigger tires ( and the speedo isn't calibrated). I mainly drive in town. But still, I had a very similar setup in my '07 Taco and got 16-17 all day long. Plus the new V6 seems completely gutless. Maybe it's the gearing, but even with the HP increase it feels significantly weaker than my '07 V6. I don't get it, but it bums me out because I otherwise like the truck.
