I forget, these are pre changeable filters for the ventilation right?
So replace that puppy, or better yet find a way to make it easily replaceable?
Or do the 1st gens not have them at all?

I assume you have a bluetooth radio and you already routed the mic up through the driver side a pillar and attached it to the underside of the sun visor?

No filters at all unfortunately. I thought about finding a place to add a filter but im thinking the fan pressure would be too restricted.
Im oldskool on the stereo. I have a usb female connect cable going to my center console where i hook up my phone.

Thats not oldschool. Thats the best school. Bluetooth bit rate is horrible. You're also bypassing the phones built in amp and giving you stereo pure digital info of the song and letting its DAC do the work.

Changed the fluids in the rear diff and trans case but couldn't get to the front .Found my skid plate is being held on by a nice stripped bolt. After I cut the rusty skid plate off I'm gunna try to bend up some sheet metal for a skid
Anyone know what gauge would be good?

Didnt know that. I always thought my blue tooth sounded better than the other forms. How about through an aux cord?

aux cord usually means you're pluging it into the headphone jack of the phone/player which means you are using the phone/players built in DAC and amp then then Headunit takes the analog signal and reconverts it to digital and then back to analog...not the best way.

USB plugs are the best. Granted, this is assuming you have a headunit with nice converts and amps..

I agree, typically letting the head unit do the decoding is best. My friends truck has an Android head unit and uses NFC (not Bluetooth) and really works well. The aux plug is no better than an old school cassette tape adapter.

NFC has a 4cm (1.6") range and up to 424kbps.

Gotcha. I hvae a newer alpine single din with all the bells and whistles but im having to install a "compact" amp as it doesnt have a built in amp. Sounds pretty good the way i have it tuned now but i think the amp should make it clearer adn just sound better. Hopefully

Oh yea I love the usb connect. I guess I just compare it to all these new cars w/ bluetooth sync and such so its "old-school" I dont think ill ever get rid of my eclipse unit. They made some good stuff until they got bought out.

Ah. Well thats no good. CD is 1156 kbps..

Yea some of the mini amps aren't bad but if you have nice speakers chances are they are still under powered.

    Never heard of them.

The USB connect is the best though still in my book...assuming you also aren't playing 128kbps MP3s with it that is.

Otherwise, good ole CDs are the best quality. But not as awesome as the data storage of a digital player and don't skip.

424kbps isn't that bad.... NFC is physically capable of a lot more, 1gbps or more, but updated standards aren't in place yet. Maybe soon... Normally he just uses it to access MP3s that the head unit plays directly but it can stream. If you want true hi fidelity audio don't use a phone. No matter what connection you use the phone will limit the quality.
