It would seem so, but he also didn't get banned so it seems to me that it couldn't have all been as bad as we assumed on his end.

    Haha...not doing it...can't make me!
Napa auto parts, its around $30 a tube. I looked for other areas to seal up the cab after finishing the snorkel, it will go a long way!

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
You can find black silicone caulk and black polyurethane sealer at Lowes.
The silicone type won't stick to the plastic of your snorkel which I assume is why the instructions say not to use silicone for sealing the elbows. But for filling the gaps where snorkel meets the fender it'll do well enough. It most definitely sticks to the fender.

He got in over his head with some things, including the group buy itself. I'm not excusing him at all but sometimes a little help, more logistically than financially, can go a long way.

Now that you guys have your stuff you'll have time to watch stuff like this:

Another video shows a guy sealing a tire onto a rim in the field. He used ether on the tire then lit it. The tire then sealed to the wheel so it could be inflated. Some Russians have the know how of doing stuff like this on a regular basis. Truck is a Tacoma I think.

Seating a tire like that is fairly common knowledge, and definitely not exclusive to russians.

You get your snorkel installed? I have a couple of weeks off in March so that's when I'll hopefully get mine done....along with some ditch lights and CB radio.

Would Permatex RTV black adhesive sealant work for this?

I don't honestly know. Its all about the sealant being formulated to adhere to the specific plastic you're using it on. If you read the tube on silicone it tells you what it's formulated to adhere to. Different silicones adhere to different plastics. I wasn't sure how good the adhesion would be using that black silicone because the snorkel install instructions specifically said not to use silicone to seal the elbows. I don't even know what kind of plastic it is but I have a feeling it's abs. Anyhow, so far mine seems to be holding fine. As far as rtv goes... You'd have to try it to find out.

That's what I used to seal the elbows but I wanted something black to fill the gap between the snorkle and the fender so I used some silicone I had.

I read somewhere recently that they said no silicone because it can affect the MAF. Not sure how though. Can tell you for certain that Silicone doesn't stick to the snorkel.

Did it work? My plan is to use this and possibly window cord caulk after the fact.

Do we have a confirmation on what size to order to make this "mate" with the TRD CAI?

I have a question regarding the bolts and nuts that bolt the snorkel body to truck- is there any chance that the nuts will come loose? Would lock washers or nyloc nuts be better to use?
