Well, last week I put in for vacation at the new job for the 17th of March for the Tac Conference, 28th of April for the NRA annual meetings, and 1-2 June for the Red Clay Rally. Being the new guy can suck, I was denied for all but the NRA meetings in April. So I got a cousin interested in taking my seat at the Tac Conference. So that $335 won't go completely to waste. I knew the $50 on the Rally was a gamble when I signed up, but I'm still bummed that I won't get to compete. Though the bright side of not going to the Tac Conference means I will be coming to LBL. Though, I will probably be driving up after work Friday night and home on Sunday afternoon at best. I might drive up from home early Saturday and home Sunday afternoon. Not sure I want to leave all my camping gear in the back of the truck while I'm at work all day. The Titian stadium doesn't seem to be too bad of a neighborhood. That's where I have to park till I get a garage parking spot...

Not with 40 trucks behind me. Haha But I have no plans other then to enjoy myself and try my best to make sure others enjoy themselves. Where that takes us can be made in the moment.

Remember, this is the "anti plan shit, fuck a schedule" meet. This year there's just way more people so "go do whatever you want, whenever you want" may ultimately be what happens anyway.

That same thought process has been running through my mind (scary huh?) Back in the early '80's we got a group together and took a Louisville Times/Courier Journal reporter on a night time 4-wheelin' trip. The trail was only 5-1/2 miles long. By the time we rolled out, there were over 100 trucks. We literally had people still on pavement, waiting to get in the woods when the first one's were out on the road and through the trail. Even 40 could string out for a long distance. Start getting a few back markers stuck, and it could get ridiculous.

If we get stuck at the back of a 40 truck trail Amy's driving. I'll setup my camp chair on the DYF drinking platform/roof rack, getting wasted and pretend I'm a drone. make a film, take a nap, repeat, etc.

Pro tip! A couch fits nicely across a roof rack! Add a coffee table and lamps for that "home away from home" feel!

Yeah definitely. That's exactly why I have always chosen to not make "times" and "events" and "places to be". It's easy when there's 10 trucks. "Aight guys yall ready? Let's go." That same approach doesn't make sense with 40+. Both Neville Bay and LBL itself were chosen for an anticipated occurrence like this. As I've said before, this is like the car meet up in Walmart parking lot where the goal was to just get people together with similar interests and then some people walk around and check out cars, some go over in a corner and do donuts, some get together and head downtown to the local "drag strip", some go out for a cruise on the town and some just show up to sit in a lawn chair and sip a margarita. No one laid down guidelines and regulations but everyone shows up wanting to have a good time and expect for an unspoken respect to be shown to everyone there and the surrounding environment. I expect no less of that this year.

Yes, they are cheap. But when I see them almost sawed into half, drenched in water for hours, smashed with a sledge, etc...I'll buy it for that price and try it.
And these weren't the manufacturer videos.

    To each their own

Besides, anything over $100 for a 40"+ lightbar, you're compensating for something.

Why spend $1k on a ghey 50" bar, when a $200 50" ghey bar would work?
