Since putting on the new tires/wheels, truck is vibrating in the 45-55mph zone. No shimmy in the steering wheel. Just sort of feels like the whole truck is bouncing up & down.

Balance looked good when we put them on so do you guys think maybe it's driveline? With these tires being a lot heavier than the others, seems like it might affect load on the driveshaft and therefore make things more pronounced, right? Or could it still be a balance thing even though the machine showed them "balanced"?

 

Chances of something else going wrong at the exact moment you put tires and wheels on is slim to none....If you didn't notice a problem before, it would seem unlikely that it's anything but the tires and wheels. That said, anything is possible. Just for shits and giggles, put a LOT of air in the tires and test drive. (10 to 15 psi MORE than "normal") and see what happens. That will sometimes make a difference if a tire is slightly out of round or has a flat spot. Sounds kinda "shade tree mechanic", but it works.... Of course, return pressure to normal after that. If the pressure change eliminates vibration, you know it's the tires. a simple no cost experiment.....When I put the Duratracs on my truck 2+ years ago, we found an out-of-round tire thatta way.

 

I used probably 10 cans and that's never happened to me. Don't scare away the potential customers.

I'll donate 4 or 5 half used cans that won't spray. Been saving them. I figure I might be able put a tiny hole in the can, release the pressure, cut it open, and apply it by hand. Ha Ha.

A friend owns a business where they do electroplating. He suggested I have them plated with Titanium. I suggested he do it free. He then suggested Krylon enamel.

 

Just bust a big hole in it and shot gun it. Save me some trouble ....

 

bumped from 35 up to 45psi. Will see in the morning if it makes a difference.
