Guess I'm expecting to much as previous owner of three Tundras, love this truck and the gas I'm saving just not thrilled about the seats and lack of power seat option up and down to get you in the sweet spot.

I like the seats in my Taco. 6 foot 3 and 190 lbs. Went on a 12 hour road trip with no problems.

    Get your swoll on' bro.

I can't comment because the longest drive I've done is 45 minutes and the seats were fine for me. I have a long drive coming up and I'll report back.

Power seats would be another $1250.

Custom seats by an upholstery shop of your choice are half that, and fix the problem entirely - and better. Custom fit to you.

Custom seat beats anything, every time.

I'm 6'3", 205lbs and have zero issues with the seats. In fact, I think they are incredibly comfortable. The only issue I see though is that I effectively only have 3 total seats since no one other than a vertically challenged person can sit behind me.

As far as the long distance ride, I learned in my 2nd gen every hour change the seat angle. I have back problems and staying in the same position for 2+ hours is what gets me. Simple to just move tilt every hour.

    Same with my 1st Gen.

My only complaint are the seats. I'm leaning back so much may as well drive a lowrider and be drinking Colt 45 from a bag.

3rd Genders don't have power driver seat up and down? LOL. wow.

I just Stopped off at a car upholstery shop he says he can pad out the rear bottom of the seat to bring the rear of the seat more level with the front to bring me out from sitting in the rear angled hole position, Hey for a Hundred bucks I will give it a shot.. Appointment isn't tell the tenth tho so will update and let you no how it turns out...

I had a 2013 TRDOR and those seats were better than my 2016 TRDOR. They fit me me much better and we're definitely more comfortable. They were an upgraded seat of the lower trim models. Now the only difference in seats and trim levels are leather for the limited. I allso drive a 2016 Rav4 and those seats are much more comfortable than the taco. I wish I could lower the rear of the seats more , to me personally I feel the front parts of the seat are to low. I'll buy just the driver side of the Recaro listed above they look bad ass.

At 5'9" I step up on the step with my left foot and sit down into the seat swinging my legs in with one motion. Same way as I figured out how to get into my Wrangler when I had it. Getting out I sort of do a reverse but with as pronounced of a step up on the running board.

I find the seat to be perfectly comfortable, seating position as well. It's not really different from the 4Runner I owned for 12 years.

I think I have to jump in and agree with the OP. I burn through vehicle pretty fast as I put a lot of miles on them, so I've sampled lots of seats over lots of miles. I am only about 5'10" and 190 lbs, but I find that I struggle to stay comfortable on long drives. (long as in 8 hours or more) The vehicle I traded out of for the Tacoma was a Range Rover Evoque and it had extremely comfortable seats (although partly because they were power adjustable every which way). I've been having a hard time putting my finger on just what it is that's causing me to be moving around trying to get comfortable. I have actually looked at ponying up for some Recaro's or something along those lines, just because I spend so much time with in the seat.

Lest you think I'm just complaining about the Truck overall, I'm certainly not. I knew I wasn't buying fully adjustable seats, but I think it's certainly worth sharing some conversation about how to inject a little more comfort in for those of us who are not all that satisfied with the seats. Might be interesting to see how many of us who notice the aches and pains are those of us getting up a bit in the years. My first Toyota pickup road like a tank, shook like hell over every little bump, was noisy, etc., etc., but at the time I was about 19 and none of that mattered because I loved that truck!!

I'm pretty dang happy with this one so far, but my bones just complain when I climb out after 8 hours behind the wheel.

Engineer1: How about we add in adjustable power seats, like we do on virtually every car in the toyota line-up especially when they come fully optioned?

Engineer2: We can also add in some rear disk brakes for better performance under virtually all conditions and bring the tacoma in line with all of our body-on-frame trucks/suvs!

Mike: Dont bother... were going to sell a shit load of them and Ill just tell them how we did a survey of prius owners to figure out what they want in a truck.

https://www.amazon.com/CONFORMAX-CO...1487896521&sr=1-18&keywords=gel+seat+cushions I used these on my 2004 seats, sit slightly higher but took the edge off long drives,or bouncing around trails very good.

    Not enough...
This dude put Scion XB seats into a 1st gen. I'm pretty sure there is something else that may fit, it just depends on the mount of time and money you want throw at this problem.
