Rhino liner / linex in new truck?

What did they say when you asked about the blends adherence in the composite bed. Wish i did mine when i first got the truck. Never too late!

 

There's no problem at all with the adherence... They just sand down the bed.

There's a lifetime warranty and the Toyota dealership was literally right next door, I guess they do tacoma and tundras several times a month for them.

Linexsd.com - I called all the linex shops around San Diego. These guys were the most knowledgeable and the owners themselves are the ones spraying down your truck... Not some employees that were just hired that could care less about your vehicle. Highly recommend it!

 

I vote for Line-X. Looks good, super durable, and stops stuff from sliding around in the bed.

 

Had Line-X on a 2000 Tacoma and really like liked its toughness and non-slipperiness. Had the OEM bedliner in a 2007 and while it was tough enough, it was slippery. With the bedliner, I was especially worried about my hunting dogs jumping onto the tailgate before I put them into their crates. They often slipped jumping in. Decided it was safer for the dog to lift them in (had a vet once tell me that the most frequent cause of injury to hunting dogs was jumping in and out of pickup trucks).

Waiting for delivery of a 2017 TRD Sport DCLB. Will have to decide then whether to stay with OEM or get Line-X.

 

Totally makes me want to get mine done now.

 

Go linex. After one dessert trip the OEM liner was badly scuffed. And things slide everywhere

If it were free, or $100, or $200, I would do it. Will look at the cost once I have the truck, then decide. It's one of those discretionary expenses I can convince myself to do without. First and foremost, I'm a cheapskate. In this case it might have something to do with having just spent $40K on the truck itself.

 

lol. Ya I budgeted $5,000 for mods as apart of buying the truck... Made it easy to do everything I wanted

 

I'm wondering if there's a market for the OEM plastic bedliner I'll have to deal with if I decide to go with Line-X. Looked at the "buy sell trade" sub-forum and didn't see many there. If there was a significant after-market value for the OEM liner to offset the cost of Line-X, that would help move the decision along.

I think you might be in for a surprise if you remove the plastic 'bedliner'. Unless you have a fab shop make a custom metal bed for you in its place.

 

Yes, I can read, but I haven't devoted myself to reading about how Tacomas are built. I guess I'll do some more reading. Silly me -- I must have assumed that there was a more substantial "bed" under the "bedliner".

 

Its been stated multiple times in this thread. There is no liner, and it is not plastic, it is a fiberglass bed, thats all there is to it. What you see is what you get.

 

Line-x will keep your bed looking brand new forever. Resale value on the truck will be a lot higher if you keep everything in great condition! That's the cost offset + you get to look at a bed everyday that looks new vs scuffed and scratched to hell

 

Body panels, interior, and maintenance records are what I look for in a truck. The bed is meant to haul items around and with that comes scratches. Just my outlook on a "bed scratch debate".

 

When you're selling something used perception is reality. If it looks clean and you have your maintenance records, someone will pay the price. Beds a part of that IMO

 

I bought my taco used and I didn't even pay that much attention to the bed. I guess it depends on how picky you are when it comes to vehicles. I do detail work on the side, so I'm picky when it comes to paint condition and interior cleaning. The bed just isn't something that I intend to keep in pristine condition.
