Drop it into reverse as soon as you start it.

I know this won't apply to most people, but if you upload the images onto your USB at work you may have to decrypt the images. Some networks have symantic endpoint protection and this will encrypt the files making them unrecognizeable when you try to upload them.

    Hi all,

I have a few questions. I successfully resized images, got them on a flash drive formatted properly, and the truck recognized them. In my settings, I have the two custom images selected for startup and shutdown. They show up as selected in the menu.

For startup, the custom image only flashes 1/2 of a second. Is there any way to make it stay on a little longer and also any way to remove the warning screens?

For shutdown, the custom image isn't displayed at all. It just goes black when I turn the truck off. Any way to make that work as well?

    Thanks!

You cannot disable the warning or make the startup go longer.

The other isn't a shutdown image, its screen off image. Go to setup and hit the screen off button, the image will display

For the startup image, no, it's only going to display for a second and then fade away.

For the screen off image, go into setting and press Screen Off. The image will be permanently displayed on your screen until you turn it back on. You can still use steering wheel controls to change the audio, volume, etc.

Also, there is no way to make an image display on the screen when the truck is off. You turn the screen off to see that image (not the truck).

No problem! Your truck looks awesome by the way. You've got great taste. I have the same wheels and tires on my blue 2015 Taco.

Changed the start up and screen off images again! :goingcrazy:

    Start up:

    Screen off:

You can follow this guide to change the images which is super easy. Other tips: resize the photos to a 1.669:1 aspect ratio (1803x1080, 4032x3024, 2722x1631, 885x530, etc), ensure the photos are under 5mb in size, save the photos as .jpeg file type, and format the USB drive to MS-DOS (FAT) for Mac users. Here's a link to some minimalistic HUD/GUI-type images that I compiled that can be used.

This just gave me some awesome Star Wars inspiration for a new Screen Off image...

Found out the hard way Entune likes certain image sizes. Finally got this working.

Full resolution image 1280x720. You will need to resize it in order for Entune to recognize it. 800 x 460 worked for me

After many hours of trying to figure this out finally got it to work on my '14. Windows does indeed drop hidden files onto the USB when your saving and those files don't play well with the Toyota headunit. Thing that was driving me crazy was that it worked on my '15 Camry but not the Tacoma. I loaded the jpgs onto the USB using my Samsung S7 and it worked perfect.

Does anyone know if there is a shortcut to screen off mode. I put a picture there but going through the settings menu is kinda clunky
