Here is a couple pics of the box, plus all the wiring that comes with it. I don't know where the remote is.

But yeah, pulling that out is definitely worth a six pack.IMG_20170223_020432.jpg IMG_20170223_020450.jpg

Was thinking doing 1/8" to plate the gas tank skid. How well do you think that would hold up?

Got ambitious despite the cold and regreased the truck. Ujoints sounded a bit dry but still nice and tight.

I also decided to see why my OME greasable shackles weren't easily accepting grease. So I loosened them almost all the way and drove around the block once to let them break free internally. They accepted grease a lot easier after that. I noticed that when my neighbor and I originally torqued them we did it too tight too. It seems that when ARB means 60ft lb they mean combined. Looking at conversations other people have had with ARB reps suggests that each nut gets 30 ft lb. Boy does the whole rear end feel way softer now and I'm pleased with that.

    Probably be okay.

    hmm really...

That seems quite loose honestly. Think stock is..72ft/lbs.

So you are saying each nut as in all 4 is supposed to be only 30ft/lbs??

Overtightening shackles will inhibit their movemenet. I've got nylocks on mine. I tighten them up until snug, then back off a bit.

yea i know that. Learned that the hard way with Frankenstein.

I used lock washers and Nylocks aren't as reusable over time. I believe my OME grease able shackles on Igor have lock washers too.

May back mine off a bunch tonight and see what i think. Need to regrease them as well.

That's what I figured. Figure the stock skid can take a decent beating as is, but have seen it bend between the ridges. Figure if I make it one solid piece with tiny drain holes, it shouldn't be as prone to bending.

Yeah I thought it seemed like it might not be tight enough. But numerous ttora people that talked with ARB said 60ft lbs was the overall spec but it was achieved by 30 ft lb on either side of one of the bolts. Plus Daystar only recommends 35 ft lb on their greasable poly shackles. I'm not worried about it coming apart, just wondered if it would be too loose which it definitely is not.

Also that type of split loop lock washer basically does nothing, the first time they crush they're donezo

never seen that be the case with lock washers. Always have plenty of bight. Enough to score the nut again anyways.

Yea seems low. But screw it.

Give it a shot at 30 per nut, I'd like to know if it makes a difference for you too.

I'll be doing that next time I need to add grease. But I'm pretty sure I just hand tightened it with 2 wrenches

As long as you didn't go nutso and crank it down like a diesel head stud your probably okay. But I know with a 10in wrench (common length for a 22mm) I can put some serious torque on and I'm not a big person.

Nah got it snug then gave it one more good crank. Probably still should knock it back just to be safe

I can feel a little smoother of a ride especially going over bumps on the highway. Feels like there's a lot less bed hop. Still need to regrease the bolts too
