What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

No, it's rattlecan paint from Automotivetouchup.com. I had to clean the plastic, prime, then about 3 coats of paint, then clearcoat.

Herein lies the problem. I see so many different opinions either way it's hard to really know. I'm getting Toyo OC AT2's also and some ppl love them, some hate them, some say they suck in snow, some say they're the greatest snow tires ever. They're really quiet, NO THEY'RE REALLY LOUD!

I plan to upgrade my front springs as well as to an aal to the real jn the future. Im stationed in germany for another year and shipping is expensive lol

 

Did you have a bad experience with them?

 

For now I'm just doing the .85 in the front with the bilsteins to get a more level look. But I plan to go with eibach or OME springs in the front and then a 1.5 or 2 in aal in the rear when I complete my lit. But I feel you man I've looked through so many threads to decide what I wanna do and all the options can kinda make you second guess one another.

 

Yup, there's a lot of info out there and much of it contradicts itself. I'll have to trust the off road shop guys, they've done hundreds of lifts. And from what I've watched on YouTube, I should be happy with an inch in the back and highest setting in the front. Just want a little more aggressive look.. and they put some new speed bumps in at the mall so I want to be able to handle those better.

 

I dont even know what to do now. I called toyota canada and they just say the same shit. "your vin number is not from a truck under the recall so we cant help you". Im dealing with two house builds right now and lawyers and bankers and man this is just another fucking thing to add to my list, not to mention already working 40+ hours a week so I just might replace them and hope a recall comes or something. Not sure when the money is coming from though

From what i have read eventually they will recall those springs and Toyota will reimburse you if you have a receipt.

 

Thats the frustrating thing though, if I go to the dealer they quoted me $2100 lol no way Im paying that. I found a couple sets on kijiji used but I hope they dont want much because Im the poorest guy in town right now

Yeah that seems like a lot for 7 or 8 bolts, a jack, and jack stand.
