    Lights for days! Sasquachified!
I must say though, the 2017 6.7s seem to be doing okay though. They made several improvements with this past year.

End of an era and on to the next. Finally traded my 08 gen 2 and moved into a new gen 3.

    IMG_1905.jpg
Moved all my stuff into it today. 71 miles on it and already in love.

Once they got past the water cooled egr crap. But how many suckers had that screw the engine up with no recalls. My wife was with family on a road trip to Branson MO and one blew on them. Ford refused to pay even after complaints of overheating under warranty. That was one of the 6.4 or 6.6 diesels. Can't remember which one. That was the last newer Ford diesel in our family.

Speaking from experience with both you will miss the powertrain in the gen 2. But I do love my 3rd gen truck. A month after buying new I sold my 2008 prerunner with 59,950 miles on it.

I do miss the gen 2 already but I had it for almost 7 years and was ready for some interior upgrades. I'm pumped to have intermittent wipers!!! My 08 was a base 4x4 with a 6 speed. Had 120k on it.

You can't beat the better seats either. Comfort is 3 levels better than the 2nd gen IMO.

Do remember which fuse you tapped into? I am in the middle of trying to hard wire my Falcon Zero dash cam and I cant seem to get the constant voltage from the fuse box. I used the empty slot in the indoor fuse box and put a 5 fuse with it.

I have a 2017 TRD Sport and they recommend service at 8,000 km, and oil change at 16,000 km (Canada). Unless you have one of the criteria listed for severe service, they will only change it every second time your vehicle is in for service, 10,000 miles, or once a year. I believe the 3.5 engine has slightly larger oil capacity, and they are now using synthetic oil.
The synthetic oil and slightly larger capacity i would think are the key factors to the extended service intervals. Manufactures in north america are starting to go to once a year services ,and many of the manufactures in Europe have been doing once a year services for years.

Hey man, I had the 17 pro wheels on the 4Runner that I traded in and thought I would keep them, but after thinking about I decided to keep the stock wheels, I like them glossy better! Plus the flat 17 were a pain to keep clean. As far as tires go thought about 285s and decided against, wasn't ready to put the truck under the knife yet. Went with 265/75/16 they're a good inch bigger in diameter and no running whatsoever:)
