Awesome! Thanks! I drilled these and pulled the metal retainers from the original knobs and placed them in the new ones. Also paid attention to the clocking position so they lined up correctly. So far I like these but ordered a single Toyota Factory control knob from a Highlander and want to see how they look and Fit.

I hope to do it eventually. With two high flow cats, reroute behind the tcase, a muffler and resonator, then a dump out the back somewhere

Around here (on an island) any standing water is presumably salty. People hate alternators, frames, wheel bearings, body panels. Everyone likes to take to the streets after a big storm, then they wonder why their car is falling apart.

Yeah I took them out from the front, they pop right out of the dash plastic that surrounds them. Nothing else has to come apart to get them out.

Odd, but I pulled the factory knobs of my 06, and slid the new Chinese knobs on, and they fit nice and tight without the metal insert. No wobble, no slip, and they are nice and snug on the shaft, needing just as much force to remove them as the factory knobs did. IMG_3016.jpg

V-band it when you go to do the exhaust. Better than flanges.

I just wonder if Toyota changed the control design sometime during the run of the 2nd. Gens and changed the shaft specifications slightly. Lots of guys say they have the wobble without the insert, but I think most are later models then mine, but I'm not sure...

Could be. Two of mine were close to being tight, and third was sloppy. Maybe getting the Red Ones was the difference.

Which ones are those? I've see a couple different designs, but those are the ones I want...but in red if available, not smoke...

They are made by Artzone Inc. I've seen a version with black housing and a clear lens but not red lens like you are inquiring.
