my '09 5-lug, AC, auto is one year old today. Just for grins I kept a very strict and detailed list of every time I put fuel in the truck to get a full year average.

It averaged 22.2 miles per gallon
    the best MPG - 26.73
the worse MPG - 19.76 (19yr old daughter took to beach)
    this was for 13,202.9 miles
Total cost of gas - $1,288.83
    Total gallons = 593.83

I'm very happy with this truck and now that I did the year I will not be keeping track of the mileage any longer.
    Pete

I don't mean to spoil the party, but did you factor in the odo being optimistic by 3.5%?

X2 isthatahemi. And what speed did you drive on highway in average? Thanks for the report.

I live in quebec, I get less mpg now that temperatures are down to near 0 degrees celcius.

The odometer on my 08 5 lug is only 1.5% off. I have measured several times on interstate mile markers. I have acheived this figure on 3 different 100 mile stretches of interstate. YMMV

I think the 4X4 AC with the 245's is off by the most, as it is the smallest tire size, for Toyota's one size fits all calculation......The odometer is off the percentage that the tire size is smaller than the 265's.....

Great job, I only check mine every once in a while. As long as I get 19 or 20, I'm happy

Don't know about Kansas..but on January 2, 2009 gas was $1.45 at the Costco in Frederick, Maryland. I remember calling home and telling my wife the price while gassing up the truck.

If you spent $1,288.83 USD on 910 gallons, then you paid an average of $1.42 a gallon year round. If you went for 13402 miles on 910 gallons, then you average for the year is about 14.7 miles per gallon. Are you sure about those numbers? Am I making any mistakes on the calculations?

That's the exact same average I get in my 2006 5-lug AC auto. I usually drive it like a sissy but once in a while I'll put my foot into it on an on-ramp, or to pass or the like. Love my truck. Yes the speedometer reads faster than I am actually going (by about 3mph at 60) so the real-world mileage is actually a little worse.
