    Sliders, rear bumper, front skid, lifted
    Changed out my power steering fluid today. The slow, lazy way using a baster. But it got the job done. I have no records of it ever being changed, and by the look of the fluid, I do not doubt that. It barely had any red to it. Seriously needed to be changed.
    Also cleaned the MAF sensor while I was under the hood.
    And I sprayed the truck down, specifically for the underbody. Wanted to get any leftover Winter death off the truck.

    I contemplated putting my Icons in today but I couldn't find a punch big enough to fit the adjustment collar. So since it was sunny I just went for a motorcycle ride instead :/ Maybe tomorrow

    I need to clean my MAF...as much as i wanna do my oba setup and a swingout....i need to give thos lil mototr some love.

    There's hardly any excuse for not cleaning the MAF sensor though. It's cheap, easy, and takes little time. Get to it!

    Just did mine the other month, I was dumb and when I tried flushing it by turning the wheel lock to lock I left the reservoir uncapped and it spilled all over my alternator and engine and onto my driveway.
    Kinda interesting how they use ATF instead of PS fluid to pressurize the steering rack.

    Wow. I need to look into this. My shackles barely accept grease and the rear end feels way stiff.

    I torqued to OME specs though.

    That's the best way to do it IMO

    it's how I have my iPod hooked up to my head unit. Using the 30pin (or whatever it is) connector you bypass the iPod's preamp and get just pure sound. This differs if you hook it up via the 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Got a pretty nasty misfire today and the cel po302. I was thinking either the spark plugs and wires (42k miles each so over the 30 interval) or the coil packs. Glad ive got another vehicle to drive while i figure it out

    Certainly worth a try, I was skeptical when I was reading the posts on ttora, but then I saw that Daystar also recommended around 30lbs for their greasable shackles so I figured it was worth a try and it feels nice now and greases up easily.

    Just use a torque wrench set to 30 ft/lbs. If it doesn't click adjust it higher by 5 and try again. Keep it up to see just where you are at. :D

    Pretty sure you didn't get all of the old stuff out using that method.

    Never done it on the Taco, well aware of how and why but 95-97 MAFs are damn near impossible to find for under $200 or under $350 for OEM. So I just rather not screw with it while things are running decent.

    I agree. Im no audiophile but the difference in quality is easily distinguishable. After we talked about it last night I played around with my headunit in my commuter. It has USB and BT. Night and day kinda when you really listen different.

    I have to put some work and $$$ into my new daily driver. It's a tin box with a horrible factory stereo. It's a 2010 and it's comparable to my original stock 1998 Tacoma. Pathetic

    Drop bracket lift and booger welds
    No def not. Need to flush the lines and rack too. Basically pull the return hose to the res, let that go to a drain, close up hole in reservoir, put truck on jack stands and turn lock to lock bleeding and filling.

    Also filled my outback air co2 today. For some reason I was originally told it only had a service life of 15 years but was glad to find out that that's only for a carbon fiber tank and that as long as it keeps passing hydro I can keep using it. Well worth the $65 I paid for it then. :p

    Yeah this the first vehicle I've had that (at least as far as I recall) uses ATF and not PS fluid.

    But doing it right is a PITA (also I don't trust myself doing it alone and I was alone) and I find it hard to believe the amount left unremoved compared to the amount of new added is going to cause a problem. Going lock to lock a few times after each remove/add should have cycled a good portion of it through the system anyway.
    Hell, I've never even heard of any ill effects of not changing PS fluid. I just figure OEMs give intervals for a reason. Is it really worth doing it the right way?

    I guess I can't fault that thinking. I've just gotten into the habit of doing more of the regular maintenance most folks never do, and MAF cleaning is one of them. By being cautious and using specialized cleaner, I feel pretty safe doing it.

    Parking brake has stuck every day this week. At least it is really easy to unstick, wonder why it just started doing it though, never had before and in much colder weather.
