Tax Return Shopping Poll

cal got me good ,i have to pay almost 600 but getting 2200 fed so its not that bad. getting my lift and new rims and tires this weekend...

 

got back 2000. got new tires and payed a small bill off. got 600 saved.

 

No doubt you could spend that, but I prefer to have some financial discretion. I have my employer put $500 of each paycheck ($1000 a month) in a separate account via EFT. I only use this account for my investment opportunities.
If you took that and invested in gold, you could have bought 8 oz. periodically throughout the year (you would need to find the extra $100 bucks somewhere). Using some crude numbers: at the 09 yearly average of ~$975 per oz, you would have a net investment of $7800. And of today it would have a net worth of $8,800. Thats a profit of $1,000.
I just don't buy into the "interest isn't that much" philosophy.

 

not everyone has that discipline ya know, but if you do, thats great, some people need to keep the country oiled,...i would not be able ot hold it, between the house, the truck, the motorcycle, and my g/f, i would have some outlets to spendit on.

 

Paying bills. I'm tired of being broke.

I did buy a couple of things like a netbook and a 32" hdtv for the bedroom and also spent some on the baby, of course. The majority of it will go in savings.

 

My tax return is going into savings, hopefully to go towards the road trip I'm planning for the fall.

Normally, I would agree... But I spent a good portion of this year working for a company that doesn't deduct taxes. Being the financially responsible person that I am, I made sure to set aside a (higher than necessary) portion of each pay cheque... So my tax return should involve transferring money from my "Taxes" account, into savings

 

I'll be dishing out about 1k to the IRS this year. No shopping here.

 

umm... ya.... $500 or under.

my wife and i owe $3200

although... thats not as bad as my sister and her husband a few years ago. they ended up owing $16000.

 

getting about $1600 back, probably pay down credit cards, buy sliders, and save some if thats even possible

 

Just a little under a grand, going to buy some tc ucas and buy a new top end for the jetski.

 

I have to pay $500. that just set me back some months before I could afford my spindel lift.

Dellosa, why dont you get some spinlels instead of the UCAs?
I know there about $400 more but you'll get an additional 1.5" of lift and your down travel back.

They should be made to pay interest to the people they owe money to ,they do it to us all the time!

Congrats on house! I lived in Mesa for 10 years and have many good friends there and some of those are in Chandler. Was wondering how much you paid for house? Number of bedrooms ect. My time in NY might be over soon and was thinking of moving back to the desert. I know the area got hit hard by the housing bust.

 

Doubt that will happen, he also has some bright ideas like taxing soda. Now there is as bid of an influx to go to NJ to buy clothes and soda. Lots of money on gas for a couple of 12 packs of dr. pepper.

 

5700 will probably pay off some bills and maybe wheels for truck

 

OH...i'm sure nobody will get interest on their tax refund ..hell, they might be lucky to get it at ALL!... Maybe a I.O.U. Those Blue states makes me laugh...until Virginia turned blue now i just shake my head ...i feel sort sick now...
