Also, is it problematic to spray truck bed liner on them before welding? Not sure how easy it is to remove/sand to do the actual welding.

He is confirmed. Anything that is to be welded together must be bare clean metal. You could coat anything that doesn't need to be welded, but leave any area within at least 6" of weld contact bare. The heat generated by the weld process may bubble or even burn any coating in the area.

 

Explains it. "We will talk about it later" usually means dark clouds on your horizon. Been married over twenty years. I just do what I want and she just shakes her head. But as long as everything is getting paid and a little getting put away for later she doesn't really care.

Shes really awesome man, I can for all practical purposes do what I want.

Best way to go into this kind of conversation is a clear explanation of why this needs to happen & how it will be paid for without hurting the finances.
Just remember that by the time the first payment is due it will be Ya'll not just You
