I really miss my Tundra. If I did it again I would have kept it no questions asked. I traded for better fuel economy, 100,000 less miles on it, and easier to maneuver. But I miss the power first and foremost. The 5.7L is a great engine. Never hunts with the transmission either. Tons of room (Crewmax) and rock solid reliability.

Milage was about 14.7 MPG average combined when I calculated it once. My Tacoma gets 16.5-17.7 average. 18 on a good day with no wind or Hills. Not really that big of a difference. If I need Milage I'd just take my finances Sentra that'll pull high 20's to mid 30's. A trucks a truck.

I had a 2007 Tundra and now a 16 Tacoma off road. I miss the Tundra everyday. I do like my Tacoma but I miss the power of the Tundra. If you don't really care about MPG's I would go with the Tundra.

I'm pleased with my decision. East coast trails are tight enough on a Taco, a Crew, or Access cab Tundra would be a handfull.

We have a 2016 Tacoma SR 2wd and a 2016 Tundra Platinum 4x4. Tundra gets about 13-16 MPG Average mostly highway. The power of the Tundra is awesome, the size doesn't really bother me as I'm used to full size trucks. Ride and everything is hands down Tundra however I find that I enjoy driving the Tacoma more. If I did not have the option of swapping between the Tundra and Tacoma I would be forced into a full size truck for my job and would probably go F150 Ecoboost. Not all that impressed with the new Tundra. My first gen was great though.

    2000-2004 3.4L V6 was offered with 5-speed manual in 2 and 4wd.

    2005-2006 4.0L V6 was offered with 6-speed manual but 2wd only.

I've never owned a 2007+ tundra but my 2005 4.7L V8 tundra crew cab 4wd crapped on my 2006 Tacoma DC 4wd 6-speed. But I didnt really like the looks of the 05 DC tundra, too much like an egg, nawmeen?

A full size truck is a much better buy than the mid size. For almost the same money (when factoring in rebates), you get close to the same mpg, lots more power, more features, smoother ride, better back seat, etc.

If you are like me and don't want a land yacht and hate depreciation, this is not a question you ask. If you are asking this you probably should get the land yacht, just know the size of a full size can get in the way depending on your uses.

I've owned a 2000, 2004, and 2010 tundra. 2000 was great truck but wanted more room so got the '04. also great truck but terrible turning radius. Then had to have all the power of the '10. terrible mileage in town, searched for gears and just too damn big. I carry bicycles a lot and had to climb up on wheels to get them in or out. Never had a one in the shop for repairs. Traded '10 for an '11 tacom TRD DCOR. great truck. The just traded for a '17 TRD OR DCLB. I love it. Not as good mileage as the 11 but I wanted the long bed and the JBL radio. Not a complaint yet.

I bought the truck that best fit my particular needs/wants/preferences.

For me that was the Tacoma. I would do the same again without hesitation.

Buying something other than what best fits your particular need/wants/preferences would be, to be blunt, just plain stupid.

Whether that be Tacoma, Tundra, or something else is really kind of up to you to figure out.

    1st truck was a Ranger.
    2nd a Ram with 8' bed.
3rd I had a 2008 2nd gen Tundra and went to this 3rd gen Tacoma.

Was thinking I was over bigger trucks when I got the Tacoma last January.

A year in and I still enjoy the Tacoma. However, I'll keep it for about 5 years at the least, more than likely I'll be back into a Tundra around 2025.
