Do you know where it is sticking? I'm not sure which version your truck has but the bell cranks on mine are a common part to stick. I tried to clean and lube mine and it would only last until the next time it rained. I have new ones ordered as well as all new cables.

I flushed mine a couple of months ago, it wasn't that hard. I had to do the full flush because the screen at the bottom of the reservoir was totally caked with gunk, I had to pull off the entire reservoir and clean it out with brake cleaner. I had my kids sit in the cab and turn the wheel lock-to-lock while I topped up the reservoir, they got a kick out of that.

Is there a difference in 2wd and 4wd steering racks? I keep seeing conflicting information.

This is the correct p/n for 4wd right 4425035042

    yes...and no..

Very different racks for the 5 lug vs the 6 lug version.

Prerunner's use the same rack as 4wd trucks.

Yeah it's at the bell cranks on the drums, all I do to un-stick it is release the lever and go pull on the cable at the axle and it comes loose.

Anybody have advice on how to get the lens off the front corner marker light without braking it? Maybe a heat gun? I think it is just glued on but I'm not sure. Tkanks

That was my original plan but, seems like cvj has a lot of respect around here so thought I might give them a shot. They use oem parts and test everything so how much different can it be from a new oem?

Those things are near impossible to keep working once they go bad. I'm going to try to seal the new ones if I can figure out a good way to do it.

I don't know of the difference other than it's still a rebuild. I was burned on an aftermarket rack and had to shell out the coin again for the OEM rack and it is working much better. IMO it may hurt a little to pay the extra, but once the tires get bigger and the trail gets harder, the rack really takes it in the shorts. It didn't make it a full year and had a lot of play.

They use OEM "hard parts" not OEM seals and what not.

But not sure if anyone had bad experiences with them. So far all I know is people have issues with Safari and Rack Doctor.

    Doesn't work.

I just ran some experiments with mine to try to color match them. The only way to do is pry the lens off with a small screwdriver. This however leaves marks on the plastic lense as well as the housing. When you pry, you crack the glue and keep working your way all the way around. However, you are at risk of cracking the housing. 2 out of the 3 I tried, the lense cracked. The lense did not crack on the OEM one so maybe it will work on OEM, not aftermarket.

Also when you are finished removing the housing, where the glue is, it looks like cracked glass when you put it back together. Looks pretty bad.

Any heat high enough to melt the glue will melt the lense and housing so heat wont work

Maybe I'll give them a try. Truck isn't a daily anymore so it won't be seeing as many miles. I'm not to worried about the soft parts not being oem.

Hmm, is it actually glued or did they thermally "weld" the two pieces together?

We ran out of snow here finally, I think I'll just lube up all the pivot points and see how it fares tonight.
