I've actually thought about finding one of those skeevy "used tire" places and seeing if they'll give me $5 for it.

Do you have it on Craigslist? I have had no trouble selling spare Rugged Trails unmounted.

I did a while back. Never got a nibble. Might try to relist it.

Could just be a hit or miss thing. I also had several since I was hunting 16" steel spare rims, so selling in pairs probably helped a lot. If you're willing to go to free you will definitely move it on Craigslist. There's ALWAYS someone who'll take it at zero dollars.

Well I didn't think they'd actually re mount the old tires back on after pulling out the tmps :annoyed:

Is there an easy way to pop these off at home?

Hilift jack on the bead to break it free, tire spoons to pop it off.

it's worth paying $5 ea or whatever to have them dismounted

Back in my ghetto days, I saw someone do it by carefully driving a truck up on to the sidewall right next to the rim to break the bead. Then used a couple of small crow bars to get the tire off the rim.

But... $5 at Discount is prolly worth it.

Yeah but then you risk messing up the wires (not the technical name) inside the tire and it'll never balance properly. But definitely works for a trail repair... Can also do it with a 2x4 or branch and driving up the branch instead of on the tire.

Speaking of dismounting a tire, one of these days, i may try and add balancing beads to my tires to see how they work.

They don't usually dismount the tire to remove the tpms sensors, just break the bead down enough to push in and loosen/pull it out. You should have asked for a full dismount - why didn't you before you left? :p Hopefully they didn't rebalance them too (and charge you for it).
