What are you using it for. To me those are two different vehicles.

Just built a SR5 4X4 that I would get and it was 38,000. I would never to the TRD packages since we all do what we want with them afterwards. I may just take a drive to the dealership this weekend and see what they'll do with my tacoma for me.

Tacoma. Tundra doesn't fit in my garage and I hate clearing windows in the winter.

I would stay with the Tacoma, it has been a perfect biking/camping/adventure rig.
Besides my brother has a new long bed Tundra. The Tundra is a nice truck but it feels way to big on tight mountain fire roads and in the city.
He also brings me firewood when i need it so i don't need a big truck or even too use my own truck when it comes to heavy lifting. lol
His truck is the heavy work truck my truck is the fun truck.

I have owned tacomas then went to a tundra then returned to a tacoma. Mid size trucks just seems to be the right size for me. The tundra rode nice, had plenty of power but felt like I was driving a school bus and the gas mileage really sucked.

I'm married now... but IF I ever "did it again" it would be in the back seat of a Tundra. Much more room:rimshot:

Lucky you. I barely get 17mpg with my DCLB OR. Hoping summer blends help out.

For the price of a raptor I could afford a lot of gas for my tacoma and maybe the tundra also.

All things being equal including driving style a 2nd gen Tacoma is good for 2-3 mpg better fuel mileage than the Tundra. About 18mpg is possible in a 4X4 Tundra on the highway. 20-21 is realistic for a 4X4 Tacoma but when people start modding them and drive aggressively both can be much worse.

At today's fuel prices you're looking at about $1500 more in fuel to drive 100,000 miles. I was considering F-150 vs Tundra. I figured the extra $1500 in fuel would probably balance out in fewer repair bills. But in the end I simply found an F-150 that met my needs and couldn't find a Tundra that would work for me. I was looking to buy used BTW.

It is really simple. Both are great trucks, if you don't need the room, payload or towing of a 1/2 ton then Tacoma is a no brainer. But if you do need the room Tacoma simply isn't an option no matter how good they are.

I agree with you but I think all vehicles have gotten over priced. A decked out tacoma should cost in the 20's and a full size in the 30's at most. My brother just bought a ford 250 super duty diesel it runs in the 70's. Do all car companies think the average american is rich.

I traded my 15 Tundra TRD for a 17 taco D.C. TRD sport. I love my taco way more. I did enjoy my Tundra but hated the gas mileage. I hated parking lots, and tight areas that I had to drive, I also hated the fact that I had zero storage. Now I have the taco and I'm like a Fat ninja in that thing. Way better gas mileage, way more storage, and better overall experience for me

First Truck was a new Updated 2007 Tundra TRD 4x4 towed a 6,000 pound closed Landscaping Trailer with ease.. then Traded up to a 2015 SR5 Tundra with the new Updated interior.. Gas in the Tundras totally Suck got sick of filling the tank every other day felt like I was working just to put gas in the truck lol.. When gas was up it cost me $90.00 every other day!!! So kept my eye on the new Tacoma did all the math On the gas savings and it was a no brainier, so I sold my big heavy enclosed landscape trailer and downsized to a open Utility Trailer and Traded up for my Tacoma. Now I gas up once a week instead of every other day major difference... I still miss my Tundra for the Ride, the comfort, and the Power!!! And will probably Trade back into one when they get gas mileage up were the other full size are...
