85% of the time I shift between 2000-2200 RPM. Moving up just by 500 costs me about 1 full MPG.

i usually shift between 2000 and 2500 except for from first to second. i find that if i shift under 3000 rpm (due to the huge drop in rpms from going to first and second) its difficult to shift it smoothly.

I normally change gears between 2500 and 3000. When I am on the Autobahn I take it up to about 3600 in 5th Gear which is between 95 and 100mph. Anything over 3900 in 5th gear totally eats my gas.

first to second i usually around 3k, give or take a few due to a-holes who cant hit the fun pedel off a light. i usually shift there after around 2500, excpet when i am forth to fith on a highway merge, i tend to run that a little bit more to get into the flow of traffic. around here if you are not doing 5-10 over the limit, your an a-hole and deserve a finger, a stern screaming at from behind my wheel, and a few lays of the horn.

    welcome to massachusetts :D
