Good morning folks, I'm off to get the day started. Beautiful weather at the moment but rough T-Storms this afternoon. Y'all have a great day and wherever the day takes you please stay safe.

Have a safe one too Jeff.
I'm off to get a counter top. I wanted either concrete or soapstone but just can't afford it. I'll let the next owner do it. I'm settling on a formic a one that looks lit stone and has routered edge instead of round over.
Will look good with oak faced cabinets after urethane.

    Maybe solid surface?

When I remodeled my kitchen, I was able to find a person that was wiling to sell me two sheets of Corian solid surface. Easy to work with using standard wood working tools. I think 2 12' sheets were 750 cash.

Yea that was good price but more than I want to spend since that one wall would cost close to 1000.00
I can get a 6' for around 70.00 4-1/2' on one counter,18" left over for the end. If I make good cut.

I was surprised how well counters look. I'll take pic. Got my pocket flashlight to check them out first.

Understood. I replaced the countertops at my sisters house a few years ago with Formica. I bought them from a local lumber yard after giving them the measurements. They made all of the cuts, joined the corners, and even delivered them. Labor to do that was $150 over the cost of the top. Not braggin', just offering suggestions to have the absolute best looking job when complete.

    Understand.
I haven't checked squareness of wall yet. May have to do 2 cuts. It's been awhile but will take my time. At least I just have a small galley kitchen so there's no corners. 2 straight walls.

I have to disagree. My seasonal guy has one, he (we) logged over 15k steps two days in a row and it just made me feel more tired.

Pretty cool. It would interesting to see how they hold up to sun and heat. I'm looking for something similar for my work truck

I just used 2 bags of mesquite lump last month after never having used it before. I really like it.

Good morning all. Spent all week up near Palo Verde, Ca/ Cibola, Az building fence in one of our campgrounds. Each day starts with an hour and 1/2+ drive up and ends with the drive back. Every day was a 12 hr day except yesterday was 14. So I'm going to hang out here at the casa and rest and get some laundry done because next week we have to go finish. I figure we're about 1/2 done minus installing gates.
