So I just got an alignment at Les Schwab the other day and they said that my drivers side UCA has some "movement" in it. I asked if they thought it needed some new bushings/sleeves maybe and they said "that probably wouldnt hurt." My only question is: are the bushings and sleeves the cause of the problem, or is there something else at the root of this? Everytime I shut my door, I here a tick tick tick coming from my UCA. Also I can here it when I am driving down the road and hit bumps or really anything. Its really annoying and I want to fix it. I ordered some new bushings/sleeves from Camburg so I will be installing those soon. I am just confused on what would be causing that movement.

Are you sure it's not the uniball?

Check your uniballs or ball joints. Try grabbing each side of the arms and forcing em to see if theres movement and possibly detect where the noise is coming from.

Mine have play (need to replace then soon), they make noise, and the alignment guys always comment about them.

I've rocked the truck back and forth and it seems like it's coming from where the through bolts are. Couldn't really tell if it was coming from the uni balls.

Just reach inside the wheel well and grab the uca, give it a good shake.
