Hey guys Frank Wood here. I have an 09 red tacoma 4door 4wd. I want to put some black wheels on it but do not want to step up to bigger wheels.

How will black Pacer 297B wheels black centers on 16's look?
I could use some advice. Thanks

they will look great on your truck...

just check with other 2nd gen tacos who are running that wheel if they had to do wheel spacers...

Soft 8 style wheels have never cleared the 1st gen Tacoma calipers, although someone recently managed to clear a set he got from Summit Racing...

I tried the Cragar Soft 8 on my 2nd Gen. Did not fit. Not even close. Would not clear the brakes.

So are you guys saying that there is a chance that this wheel will not fit because of the tacoma brakes?

how much are those steel wheels? probably not worth it. i have a red tacoma with black procomp rims (7189). rims look brand new three years later, not a single scratch (except the black lug nuts). and IMO the best wheels for a red taco. they were $113 from discount tire. if you cant afford that, you don't need to be wheel shopping.

Soft 8 wheels are about $42 to $45 per wheel

D window wheels are about $65 to $75 per wheel

with the Soft 8 wheels though, figure another $100 for wheel spacers

Wheelers black steels are $78 per wheel

I looked at those pro comp wheels and they look good. Is that $113 per wheel or total? I'm looking for a good looking black wheel that is a good price. I also want it to be durable, we spend a lot of time on rough trails in Tennessee.

    likely per wheel if alloy...

if you want durable, steel wheel...

    go function over form...

a steel wheel that is bent or cracked can be pounded back or welded up...

once an alloy wheel gets hit, its time to shell out another pretty penny for a new wheel...

How would my stock wheels look if I powder coated them black?

imo unless you know someone who powdercoats and will cut you a deal, you are better off painting your stockers or buying the black steel wheels.

Yeah I love the looks of Cragars Soft 8 and the Pacers the OP posted but people have been telling me that they won't fit. Some people have shaved the calipers to make them fit. Some people made and accident some fluid was leaking.
