haha.. luckily my brother in law is the one building the pool and he also cleans them.. but i cant argue that finishing the truck would of been really awesome.. it will get done sooner or later though.. plus the kids will love the pool and im sure ill love the jacuzzi

On the topic of CV axles, I snapped a 4340 Chromoly Currie Enterprises CV axle without damaging the stock CV components or my front differential / ARB air locker.

I had both differentials locked, I had a traction device installed on a front tire, and I was in 2 feet of snow on top of gravel while applying a lot of skinny pedal. It was also -20F outside.

Was pretty amazed at the whole thing. Figured the axle shaft would be the last thing to give out.

Do you have a link to d44 hubs?

Weld in steering stops on lca to prevent it from over steering

Probably, but I like pushing things to limits and try to figure out how to make it work.

What did currie charge for the shafts? I've been looking for a stronger set and as far as I know rcv is no longer making them.

That's odd they aren't on the LT arms, I have stops on my DK stock length arms. Maybe weld some on?

No link it would be something custom. I'd recommend contacting solo to see see if they'd be interested in building you something as their xlt kit utilizes d44 locking hubs

Well..no offense but the last guy i knew who tried East coast crawling with a LT front kit..poured so much money in then finally just SAS his rig as he should had done in the first place and was much better off.

I'd just start saving up and making plans to do that. if your set on muddly crawling with 37s.

Bought through All Pro. It's like $500 for a pair or something in that ballpark.

Anybody cut just like an inch off the flat part on your coils to slightly drop ride height. King 18" 600lb. Trying to drop just a tad.....20170225_123803.jpg

I would be nervous to do that. It wouldnt surprise me if these coils are designed for loads at that exact dimension so if you were to modify it you could affect the "elastic" element of the spring and also cause unpredictable behavior. This is for increased ride height reasons I assume?

My height is slightly too high. Was trying to lower because my collars are fully extended.

I would def give the manufacturer a call. The thing is, even if you cut it, this modification could voilate the integrity causing a real challenge to get a completely smooth finish without cracking the top portion of the spring or making an uneven plane. Considering long travel can increase the loads on these by having longer arms...just a lot to gamble. Is it worth getting some different springs?

Just buy a pair of 16" coils and sell those springs.

Is your top collar threaded all the way up and hitting the top of the shock? Or is there threads still showing ?
