Virginia is going to start giving a $250.00 dollar fine to those who drive in the left lane at a slow speed. I just hope they enforce it. On a sadder note I would hate to be the drunk who plowed into those people in New Orleans last night.

Come to Atlanta. It's stupid how many wrecks you see when it rains. And I'm talking about fender benders up to eight plus cars sometimes.

Haven't read the entire thread, but one of the many things that irritates me is when I see someone coming in my direction who's stopped to turn left, and I slow down & flash night beams (even sometimes motion with my arms & hands) a few times to indicate I'm letting them turn. Sometimes someone will just sit there totally oblivious to me. I say fuck it and move on, they deserve to wait.

OMG, just saw this thread...LOL I can relate to everything!!

I don't know if this was already mentioned or not and this is my biggest peeve - but here in PA - there are way too many 'timid' people who don't know how to merge onto the highway. It's frigin DANGEROUS.

You can almost predict their timidness when you get behind them on the ramp. They drive along like there's not a care in the world. They don't speed up and when they realize they can't merge (because they don't know HOW) they put their brakes on!!!! I'm behind them.....I've already moved over onto the highway. Since their dumb ass is still on the acceleration lane - I have to BRAKE to slow down, (wave my arms and curse violently) trying to tell them to GET YOUR ASS OUT onto the highway!!

The most timid and stupid ones.....don't get out in front of me. If the traffic is light enough, I'll get over into the left lane immediately (as far away from them as possible). But in most cases, I can't move so I end up saying 'TO HELL WITH YOU' and have to pass them - as they run out of acceleration lane and driving on the shoulder. No way in hell I'm slowing down even more to let them out while I get rear ended by the faster moving traffic.

Every morning I go to work....I 'fear' getting behind these dumb asses because you never know what's gonna happen. I had one situation where - I was several cars back and thought I was in the clear of 'dumb assses' - but by the time I reached the highway, I could see TWO cars driving in the shoulder ahead of me. All of that changes your 'decision' making process while merging.
It's ridiculous. Those people should stop using the highway completely!!

He injured almost 30 people and totaled a perfectly good Silverado. He should definitely lose his license for life!

This isn't a driving pet peeve, but rather an automotive pet peeve...

People who think landau/carriage/faux convertible vinyl roofs look good on anything besides a Cadillac Fleetwood or a Lincoln Town Car, or any car newer than about 1993...

    26091_1403647608454_4502177_n.jpg

I took this picture at a shopping center in Doylestown back in March 2010. This is a Chrysler 300M (about 1998-2003?)...

I have seen more than one Toyota Camry with one of these eyesores on it before...

Infuriating. On the rare occasion I don my hood first thing in the morning due to freezing cold, I only put it on the back half of my skull so it doesn't mess with my vision..and remove it as soon as I have heat in the truck

Has anybody mentioned people speeding to cut in front of you while there is a mile of empty lane behind ya? I really hate this.

Camry drivers enjoy driving with their high beams on while they cruise under the speed limit in the left lane.

I came up behind a Honda Oddyssey during my commute to work the other morning. The sun was barely starting to rise and the van didn't have their lights on. I flashed them twice and they hit the brakes so I move over and pull up next to them to grab their attention and this bitch was flipping me off. Face palm.

Playing on your phone while is a big pet peeve of mine. I don't care who you are or how long you've been driving, our phones have turned into a big distraction and I see too many people almost have a close call with other vehicles.

Also, use the stalk to the left of your steering wheel. It works this magical option called a turn signal. If you're going to cut me off, st least let me know ahead of time.

That's my rant for this evening.

Around here in ghettoville morons like to be in the far lane and then when they want to make a turn they turn two lanes over at once.

A logger I used to know was speeding in his 1 ton pickup with a heavy duty rear bumper with a trailer hitch. When the state patrol officer behind him turned on his lights he thought "oh crap!" and slammed on the brakes. Officer gave him a speeding ticket. He left. Officer couldn't leave because he'd totaled the taxpayer's car, he had to wait for his sargant and a wrecker.

Logger took the ticket to court. Judge dismissed the ticket and admonished the officer for his negligence and failing to protect the public.

There was an elementary school right across the street from my old neighborhood (lived there 2007-2016). One of my good friends who also has Aspergers was pulled over driving on this road in the afternoon while it was an active school zone, back in like 2014 or 2015 (pretty sure it was 2015). The sign says 15 MPH school zone from like 8:30am-9:30am and 2:30pm-3:30pm or something like that. It was closer to the end of the active school zone period by the time my friend whizzed through, and there were no school buses or people present by this time. The school was deserted.

This is normally a 35 or 45 MPH zone, and my friend was doing 28 MPH in his Nissan Altima, with the 3.5L V6. A V6 Altima has like 270 horsepower or so, but a rather plain 4-door sedan is hardly what one might associate with speed or reckless driving.

All of a sudden, a cop who'd been hiding gets behind him and pulls him over. My friend's license was valid, and everything with the car was up to date (insurance, registration, inspection, etc). My friend had been pulled over a few times before but had never gotten a ticket, and had never lost his license or gotten any points. My friend has been in a few decent wrecks, including one where he totaled his SUV, but nobody ever got hurt and he never got any significant charges. Translation: His driving record to this day is still cleaner than most guys his age, Asperger's or not!

The cop, a corporal, showed no remorse and gave my friend a $500 ticket! Luckily my friend consulted with a family friend who happened to be a lawyer, and this family friend accompanied him to the court hearing. The corporal did not show up, and my friend only had to pay a $95 fine with no points on his license!
