Because some of the "self programming" steps documented for '05+ models work up til the '11 white gauges (and later models)... like the DIY disabling of the seatbelt chime.

old thread I know, but i'm having the same problem. I get through Step 6, but I can't get the new remote to program. I press and hold the lock/unlock buttons, and as soon as I press any other button next the locks cycle twice. And then cycle twice again when I let go. I've followed the sequence with the factory remote and the doors do nothing until I'm done and then cycle once. So I know I have the timing down. The company I bought it from claims I need to got to Autozone or Pepboys to have them "reset the keyless entry system."

    Anyone have any ideas?

Anyone know if reprogramming process works for tacoma's in Canada? My fob just recently stopped working. Figured that the battery was almost 10yrs old and changed it but it's still not working.

They have the instructions there, you'll have to go through the process of wiping all remotes from the truck that you don't want it to work on, they give you the instructions on how to do that, as well as how to program them to vehicles @crazytaco559

Where is the remote access receiver under the dash.....someone told me to unplug it then plug it back in because dirt (from unrelenting hill climbing) can sometimes cause the signal to not work......he said to unplug it and get some compressed air and blow it out then plug it back in.....can anyone verify?
