Well that just ups the ante.

I like a lot of Oskar Blues' beers (CO brewery), but most of what they make is pretty high-test. Any more that two of 'em and I'm completely irresponsible.

 

My grandfather worked for Nash Rambler in Racine Wisconsin, 9 months of winter, he would go from the plant to the bar and start spending his paycheck, my grandmother would wait a short time before going in and hauling him out. Smoked and drank until his early 90s had a full head of hair and could tell the best stories.

 

Barley wine is a bit of a "thicker" beer; it's great for when you want to see Aztec temples and dead relatives after about 2 of 'em.

 

Think I shall pass. I don't want to see live relatives much less dead ones.

 

I have to get up for work in 9 hours. I don't want to.

 

I just realized I never introduced myself; I'm Ed and I turned 50 in January.

I'm still working on my "Get offa my lawn!" face.

 

Yeah... most of my relatives are real winners too!

 

It has the word wine because of the strength, typically 8 to 12%. It is a beer, one of the oldest types going back to greece. These are aged in old rye or whisky barrels and pick up the taste. I have been hooked on them as I only have a beer or 2 at a time, they are not hoyty toyty or whatever it is.

 

No wine involved. Only called that because the beer has the alcohol level of wine.

 

Never heard it put that way but... I like it lol :}
