    Good info!
What are you thinking for the rear shock mounts? BAMF relocation kit or something different?

BAMF kit is for 2.0s...and plate.
I'll be making shock hoops that will allow for 2.5s

Nothing crazy. Just a basic hoop. Kinda like what @Supermoto did to his bro's truck.

    Are you missing it yet?

I have a super top secret thing I'm currently working on that would prohibit a bed cage. For EAF reasons.

That's cool. Personally I don't do plate towers. Not my preference for many reasons. And 14's are the definition of pointless with factory geometry. Especially if they are bypasses. The tubes will not line up with the suspension travel. I cycled for 6 hours today. You won't even use a full 12" stroke shock at 1:1

Oh I'm aware. But with highway 50 down to one lane at bridal falls on a Sunday...solid pass.

Yeah. Figured I'd throw it out there. What's bad about plate towers? I'll be doing the BAMF ones when I box the frame and stuff.

When is the last time you saw a cab cage built out of plate?

True, but tube can bend too.

I'm trying to figure out the best thing to do since I'll have everything apart and the welder out. What other ways is tube better though?

Stronger with less material. Age old debate of weight vs. strength.

There is nothing wrong with the BAMF towers. They work, are proven, and fairly idiot proof in terms of an off the shelf product. However my shocks are 2.5s, I have bypass tubes, and I actually go through the suspension cycling activity. I expect a lot more out of my shocks than the average bear. Which means the bypass tubes need to fall into the right spot of the suspension travel to be effective. Shocks mounted too high and your second comp tube is basically pointless and you never hit the bump zone after the compression tubes end.

You are not seeing 12" of travel with your set up? I have heard(but not seen) people use 2.5s with BAMF towers. Obviously not bypasses...

When I go down to main leaf only it will be more than 12". But I'm talking usable travel. Once the pack is put back together the leafs splay out...like I said earlier.

Also, I'll actually have a tape measure out when I cycle with my hoops.

Understood. My definition of usable travel is quite different than yours apparently. Different usage demands different tuning.

So you would remove all the spring retainers on the leaf pack?
