Haha yea. Didnt need much convincing since setup was so cheap. But just wanted some reassurance from my tacomaworld peers.

That's not what I was going for, I was trying to imply that it's a parasitic draw because it's belt driven. Sorry it came out kinda weird.

Here's where you're really not going to believe me. It had front and rear bumpers, sliders, 5 people, and a topper with a bed full of gear literally packed to the brim. Granted, the trip was all highway miles and speed was about 70 the whole time, which had the truck turning below 2k rpm's. I was stunned, and so was he, considering they get like 13mpg or something like that around town.

I don't know much else about the truck, it's his dad's if I'm correct. It is a 3.4 V6 in a 1st gen though, that may account for something. He's just wrapping up an LS1 swap in his Datsun prerunner though.

So whats the 5th injector all about? Been thinking of sc my 2.7 4 port lately.
Also...im hearing it has to go strait to toyota for a tune afterwards?

The 5th injector comes with a piggyback fuel/timing calibrator. There is no ECU tune for the 2.7 or any Toyota ECU. They aren't tunable. The low boost kit from LCE is 4psi and the ECU will compensate for the boost. The high boost is 8psi and comes with the 5th injector and the piggyback system.

Thats where I was looking. LCE.
So....that looks like a complete kit (high boost) with the 5th injector and piggyback module. So, after completing the installation how will the ecu know its getting more air and fuel? Seems I had always read that the ecu needed reflashed from toyota.
Or will it compensate itself with the piggyback and the 5 injectir?

My car is weird as well. Right now it gets 17.5mpg at 80mph (2.5k rpm)when I use cruise control. If i were to keep it at 70 mph, I end up getting 16mpg.

But if i can get 20 mpg with a supercharger... I'd feel much better doing it. It should even out gas cost.

My sc got 19 mpg absolute ideal conditions. I've seen 23 with my turbo. As someone else mentioned it's always on even when you're not in boost and it's a substantial draw.

The answer is always supercharge, or turbo :)

But really a SC taco is still a taco. If it were me id consider what the total cost is going to be, including fuel costs. Then see what toy I could get for the same cost.

I've always been happier with purpose built vehicles, each that does something well than trying to combine into 1 that doesn't.

But, that was easier when I lived on acreage and had room to park the taco, and the mustang, and the willys, and the f250, and the wife's vehicle etc.

Now I have 2 bmw (1twin turbo) and my beater truck and the driveway is full.

You forget... not everyone's wife would let them have 4-5 cars at a time.:(

The ECU will detect more air flow via the MAF sensor. With the high boost kit, the 5th injector and piggyback fuel system will add fuel as needed

I just supercharged my truck a few weeks ago (LCE kit) totally worth it! but like some people have said you tend to be a little bit more a lead foot, at least at first.
