3rd Gen Magnetic Gray Thread

Traded in my 2007 Taco for a 2017 TRD Sport. I love it!

 

Yeah luckily I got mine before Toyota jacked the price of them up. Price matched from online FTW.

 

If you do get them priced matched from Toyota I got mine at $168 a rim not including tax of course. It's a steal.

 

where did you find that pricing?

 

I look up the part number online and then I take it into the Toyota dealer and they should price match it for you.

 

These are at their cheapest point I've seen on Amazon, incase anybody is looking for some pretty good side steps! I, still cannot afford them! Lol....

cool little mod, but is it worth it? Most people open the hood twice a year if that especially when left at stock.

 

Well lucky for us, this forum isn't called StockTacomaWorld. If you don't want one, don't get one. I, on the other hand, open my hood often due to little critters trying to climb in when I'm up at the cabin in the winter. So to me yes, its worth it.

 

I check my oil at least once very two fill ups. Amazing that others don't regularly. Also glance at washer fluid and radiator overflow tank. Just good PM. Normally it shouldnt matter, but if something is wrong, you will catch it before you're stranded or spin a bearing.

Finally put on my new decals.
It originally said zombie response edition on the bottom, but I decided to nix that and just put the decal on with out it.

This is going to come off as stupid but whats the process for plasti dipping badges?

 

You can use blue tape (or similar) and tape around the emblems and spray it. I personally sprayed from about 6 inches away. anywhere between 3-6 coats depending on how much you want to apply and wait appox. 30 min. between each coat. ---or--- you can remove the emblems and spray them and re-install which I think is more work and unnecessary. The plasti does just peel off of the paint, so don't worry about getting some on. If you need to remove, I do suggest a tooth pick or similar item to not scratch your paint. Others may have a different criteria but that should be a good general idea on the process. Hope that helps.
