The clutches aren't locking the differential though, it just engages the fly wheel that is then mechanically locked. An easy way to tell is in a limited slip diff the gear oil required needs a friction modifier for the clutches, the G80 doesn't. It has its pro and cons.

I was 20 at the time. This was made back in 2009, BEFORE the Tacoma came into my life. I just realized after watching this that I probably HAVE NOT watched this video since before I got Tacoma, either (again, approaching 8 years now).

I am still close friends with two of the people in the video being interviewed (Asian guy and the only girl). In fact I just enjoyed a cold beer with the former at his place earlier tonight...

I have not seen the guy with the messy hair (first guy being interviewed) in like 6 years. He's a great guy, and we're still friends on Facebook, but I just have not seen him since he went to college.

 

Speaking of California and virginity, I did metaphorically lose another form of virginity out there...

FIRST TIME I EVER DROVE SOMETHING WITHOUT SPARK PLUGS! My uncle who who still owns the truck and recorded the video lives in California. He had a valid California driver's license, but I had a Pennsylvania learner's permit (valid, but still a learner's permit. The Dodge Ram I'm driving was registered in Texas (uncle had property out there at the time and it was cheaper to register it there). Still, if I'd managed to get us pulled over, I don't know how the cops would have reacted...

Usually the salesperson goes along on the test drive, but it was only a 2-seater and they had a copy of my dad's driver's license, so they let father and son take the car. It was around Labor Day weekend in 2005, and it was hot. I remember climbing into this car for the first time after they got it out of the showroom and being absolutely amazed by how FRIGIDLY COLD the A/C was. The A/C condenser was obviously NOT damaged in the wreck...

A 1994 soft top is not out of 500. Only 1993 110s and 95 station wagons are out of 500.

 

It is a stick shift though, a lot of them are automatic, and a lot of them also did not have A/C. My friend's 1994 also has R-12 A/C!
