What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Was the blank switch location easy to remove to install the new switch? Does it pop right out or did you have to remove it with a dremel tool?

Follow @moe2o4's guide to disassemble the dash panels. Super easy, all you need is a 10mm socket. The blank is even easier to remove from the far right spot after you have the dash apart. It unclips from the back and pushes to the front. No tools needed, pops out in seconds.

No problem! If you are installing a light bar behind the grill in the lower opening you may need a dremel to cut off small parts of the plastic wind deflectors. I showed exactly where in the write-up I did that I linked to in my OP.

I'm new to the forum as well, and agree that I'm here to learn and help the community as much as I can! I ordered the caliraised stealth kit. I went back and forth for the last 2 months on what to do. I was so close to doing the mictuning one on Amazon (the same exact setup you did), but the only thing that worried me was the condensation part down the road. plus, your write-up wasn't there when I was going through everything and I'm not very confident in my electrical skills, so I really hated to piece meal it all together as I'd have to wing it on a lot of things. That being said, this weekend I bit the bullet and placed my order and now of course see your tutorial with exact links (that still work). no joke, had this been up on Saturday I probably would've done your exact setup

I just get overwhelmed tearing apart a brand new truck. I guess I just need to get used to it. I'm not a very mechanical person when it comes to this kind of stuff, and I don't have any local Bro's around that I can turn to. But people like you have helped me so much and I'm very appreciative of that!

Thanks for the feedback! I've been flip flopping between the two, but read that the husky mats were more slippery when cold and wet and that the Weathertechs had better grip? Not ideal for snow boarding if that's the case, but if that's false then Huskys are definitely a contender. Yea, the snow was pretty sweet and the coast was awesome Saturday!

That's the one complaint I have with my weathertechs. Passenger mat sides all the time.

 

I'm not an expert either but it's not too bad if you take your time. Hopefully this step-by-step gives you everything you need. And this install is not very intrusive to the factory setup at all with the exception of the small trimmed portions of the plastic wind deflectors and the small t-tap splice into the cargo light wire. I tried to keep it from becoming too invasive on a new truck since I felt the same way. I was a little worried about condensation as well but I couldn't justify the extra cost for how little I'll use it. If I see any condensation in the light bar, I'll take the light bar plexiglass cover off, dry it up, and will then apply some exterior window silicone to seal it better. I'm sure there are guides on YouTube on how to seal them as well. From what I've heard from others, they haven't had too many condensation issues but it's definitely a cheap Chinese light bar as opposed to the better quality ones you can buy such as CaliRaised, Rigid, etc. I'm sure you'll be happy with your setup!

 

Right about three inches in the front and about an inch and a half in the back. Its pretty dead on level. I had the factory wheels and a tool box in the back so it looks a little squatted in the photo. I did use a headstrong spacer on the driver side to fix the taco lean.
