She ain't gone...she is just @PROseur now. At least that's what my half drunk sleuthing has uncovered. If that's incorrect some dude named @PROseur called me beautiful about 50 pages ago in this thread and I was so drunk I believed it was @lotuscupcar

I've been rocking manual transmissions for the last few years now in my last couple cars. Just upgraded to the Tacoma, which was no exception. Love my manual transmissions, and its even more badass in the truck.

 

I went to 6 dealerships to find 6 speed speed manual and every one told me YEAH EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION
I am thinking then why the F toyota doesn't make more of those if many ppl are looking for it.

I had to order mine and wait 2 months for it
And not to mention 4 of the dealerships didn't even care to take time to order or look for it, the only reason toyota got my business is because of the manual transmission option.

 

I was quite fortunate. Went to the dealership, told them I wanted the Sport AC, MT, listed off my wants...The sales guy wasn't confident they'd be able to find what I wanted. The first truck we looked at fit all my criteria, the sales guy didn't even know it was a manual until he got in it. Walked away with it 2 hours later a happy camper. When it's meant to be, it all slots into place.

 

It's amazing how some people these days don't even know what a manual transmission is...

 

I taught both siblings how to drive a manual, and a few friends. Another just admitted to me the other day he didn't know how to drive a manual either! Don't really want him learning in mine, though...

One of my coworkers was giving me shit for driving a manual not too long ago. Though I think he was envious that he's not allowed to, per the wife.

 

Yes I taught younger my siblings as well, but my dad really was the one who showed us the finer points. I tried teaching a few ex's, good way to find out how someone's handles a stressful situation real quick. I don't know why some people have their make their spouse behave or control them, seems a little too bitter IMO. I wouldn't mind teaching someone with my Tacoma, but If I had brand new truck. Now way!!

 

I taught myself how to drive a stick with my second Celica. My parents didn't have much to add once I figured it out. I have learned a couple things along the way, there's always something new to learn. The 6-speed is new to me, I've always driven a 5-speed. So 6th gear is where I'm used to having reverse and reverse is in a whole new spot for me. Just retraining myself at this point.

I think, as far as the spouse goes, it's more so the fact they have a baby. Can't be distracted from the baby while driving a stick, where an automatic kinda drives itself.

And I've got a brand new truck, exactly the reason why I won't teach him.

 

Dealer told me the MT Off-Roads are super rare. When we were there doing the paperwork, he said half the sales guys were lurking with phones in hand waiting for us to NOT buy, cuz they had been getting so many calls about mine.

Feels good having something so many want and can't get their hands on.
