question about rim size

Hey guys its come that time to replace the tires on my truck and I want to do the rims at the same time to get a better fitting set. Currently I have bfg a/t's 31x10.5x15 on a set U.S. Wheel rims. I like the rims but I didn't do enough research and the front rims were rubbing on the caliper and I ended up needing to use 1/4" spacers. I believe I ordered the rims with either 5.25" or 5.5" backspacing and that is what caused my issue. I'm pry getting Firestone destination a/t's this time around and wanted to find a set of the us wheels that I can run without rubbing or spacers. I was looking on Summit's website which is where I got them originally and they have some with 4" backspacing, would these work? They're the all black steel rims, I believe the model was the Daytona's.

you need a wheel that has 4-4.5'' backspacing

 

Ok I'm pretty sure they only had 4" then it jumped to 5.25". Does anyone else have experience with these rims? If I can't find a set of these that won't need spacers I may ave to look for for something different.

Also what is the bolt patter on the '99 taco's, it's been quite a while since I've looked at this stuff so I'm a bit rusty on the specs.

i had a set of those on my truck before i changed out to the daytona style streetlocks...

you should be fine... try to get them in 3.75" or 4" backspace if getting them in 15s...

 

I didn't see a 3.75", I was gonna get the 4" but when i put in my truck on summit it wasn't listed so i wasn't sure if it would fit or not

 

most retailers databases wont list the tacoma on a lot of wheels as they are going by OEM spec... its always a crap shoot when buying online...

but there are tons of 1st gen tacos that have been running D window or daytona style wheels for years...

i had the same wheels back from 2004 to 2007...

 

Just a little FYI for anyone out there thinking about these rims, the ones with 4" b.s. did not fit, i ended up sending them back and sticking with my old rims.

 

which wheels? a lot of us have been running D window steel wheels for over 10 years on tacos...

yah, those are the wheels that folks have been running on tacomas for years...

although looking at your whole post, you ordered 15x10s instead of 15x8s and tried to run them without a suspension lift, which explains why they would get stuck on the stock UCA...

if stock suspension, 15x7s would be best, but you can go up to an 8 inch wide wheel... body lift only keeps the tires away from the body, not the frame and other suspension components...

so as not to mislead anyone else, it should be noted that a 10 inch wide wheel may not work without a suspension lift...
