What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Over the last week or so. I've installed SOS concepts bumper and sliders. Installed smittybilt X20 Winch.

So this happened today. It goes back into the truck in a few minutes where we'll see if my comedy of errors has created a bigger problem.

So I removed the whole unit because I wanted to replace the bulb while I was at it. I ordered the t4 LED's online and soon realized they did not fit in the hole. The light diode was too large to fit in.
As I was trying ever so slightly to finagle the top of the LED into the hole, the top right corner of the plastic tech board snapped off (MOTHER F***ER!!)

So I started to take apart the unit which consisted of about 10 screws and about 6 small snap release buttons. I was able to disassemble the unit without incident so while it was open to me I decided to superglue the corner back on and pray the the leads that are on that side of the plastic also line back up perfectly so it works when I find a proper bulb replacement.
Gluing completed!

Then while turning it over to reassemble, all the fan control pieces dropped out all over my desk, about 6 different little components none of which I had the faintest idea of how it was supposed to be oriented. (I dropped a few more F bombs).

After looking at all the parts I reassembled not once, not twice, but FOUR different times I finally reassembled the unit, but not without snapping off 3 of the 6 snap release buttons.

(Superglue is now my best friend! )

After reinstalling all the parts I just realized that something may still be wrong. I just found this...



...under a piece of paper on the corner of my desk right next to where all the pieces went when I took it all apart! I don't recall seeing it and can't for the life of me figure out which part it may have even come from. I will say it makes an interesting clicking noise that it didn't make before.

We'll see how it works in a few minutes when I go out and plug it in.
