What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

It's a direct fit with the use of their brackets , sliders and even was able to keep the subwoofer and amp In the same place, they sit an inch lower than the stock seats

 

Are they max comfy? I've heard good things about Corbeau, but never sat in any. Seats seem like a possible purchase at some point. No reason to not be comfy while you drive.

 

They're very comfortable but they hold you in tightly to the seat with the side bolsters around the sides of your back and for me that's what I wanted so no more sliding around when you're going around a curve and added an inch or so of more Headroom for me. You can Google the reviews on the LG1 seats and they're really really good

 

Yeah that's definitely a benefit, especially in a truck. Dat body roll gets you goin'. I can dig staying put a bit more.
I'd really be interested in how well it is on the lower back. Some days, the truck seats just aren't friendly. Wish I'd kept the seats out of my LeBaron. Goddamn those seat were fantastic. Best I've ever been in. Never once had an issue with the back. I'd be looking for a seat that could hopefully do that.

 

I just picked one up today from them. I asked what inner tie rods were on it and he said it wasn't oem but didn't know what brand. He said it had less movement than oem so lifts higher than 3" might be limited by them. Going to take droop measuments before I install to make sure nothing has changed.

Forgot to ask about warranty on them.

Yeah, with 2 gauge you should be fine. It can easily handle the 150 amps from the alternator as long as the run isn't over 8 feet. For the big 3, it may be a little more that you actually require.

Here is a chart I used to gauge (pun intended) the wire size I use based on the load it will carry:

 

Took it to a local shop and they used the rope plug so hopefully it will hold up until Wednesday when my new set of Toyo At2 come in.

Alright awesome, thank you. And do you mean it's probably overkill? I'm okay with a little overkill. I have 6ga left from when I did my aux fuse panel, it seems I could potentially use this for battery to chassis and maybe battery to fuse box? Or is it just better to use 2 for the fuse box?

 

Id say fuck it and go 2ga if you wanna do 2ga. 4ga would be fine though.

 

The power steering return line has very little pressure right? Found a hose that is starting to crack. Any old fuel line should work right?

 

Dammit. I forgot to look what guide I was getting on the rack from cvj. Of course I got the older roller style if they don't have one with the guide bushing I'm just going oem. Need to replace my front pinion seal too and it looks a bit easier to do without the rack so no big hurry to get things back together.

 

Whoah, I thought I was shot down 10 pages ago for recommending changing it while the guy had his dash apart.
IIRC (probably not) the 1st gen RAV-4s had one but it wasnt designed to be easily replaceable. I think it was behind the glovebox.
I figured Toyota did the same with the Tacos.

 

You could have made a game out of this by just listing the part numbers and making people guess!

Yeah, I meant 2 gauge would be overkill. And 6 gauge might be a little undersized.

 

Breaking trail again this morning, i'd sat around 10"of new snow when I was done I had snow coming over my hood by the end of the canyon. These Maxx's are doing pretty good.

 

Can you believe stock is 8 gauge, I too think even 6 gauge is too small.
