is there anybody out there who builds a winch bumper for a Tacoma that is actually meant to use?
    Light weight without being aluminum
Jack all points or flat on the bottom.
Doesn't stick out 12" past the front of the truck.

ARB is close but they stick out way way to far for what they are doing.
    Cbi doesn't have jack points
Road armour sticks out way to far and don't have jack points

Lightweight without being aluminum? Not sure whats wrong with aluminum but a hybrid bumper is an option

Being flat on the bottom takes away from your approach angle, some have hi lift slots on the front but even if it doesn't a D ring attachment point will work for lifting

I think ARB is the only one that sticks 12" out and that only applies to the 12+ model, early version is slimmer

Doesn't look like any way to use a highlift on either the US off road, or southern bumper. Are the slots in the pelfreybuilt for jacking from? Or winch access.

And the chain/d ring option is way to shaky and dangerous in my experience.

    You
Not sure why you want to do that, because you can lift either side from the wheel or sliders with a hilift as necessary. The chain through two d rings would be more stable. However, any single lift point up front is going to be just as unstable. Good luck in your search though.

Mobtown looks good. Needs a better grill gard. Something you can wrap a winch cable around when doing multiple pulls.

Most people just use the shackle.

Try that on any kind of a side hill and you are going to have problems.

Well..that can be said for a lot of situations where you need to lift off camber... but I agree.

I don't think it matters where or how you are lifting a vehicle off camber, you will have issues. So I'm having a hard time seeing that lifting by the D ring is a problem

When you are by yourself hours from help or even a town a high lift and a shovel are sometimes the only things that work to get you out of trouble and home.

That and sometimes a rifle ain't a bad idea either....

There's a direct link between weight and strength in this application. Is it possible to cut weight on this product? Sure. But there's also an inverse relationship between safety factor and analysis cost. Lower safety factor = higher analysis cost.

Your request is like asking to design a bridge like an aircraft but keep the price the same (i.e. Make the bridge super light and able to take just as much abuse). It's not impossible, just not realistic.

There are many companies that make slimmer bumpers than ARB. In fact, most are slimmer than ARB.

I like the mobtown bumper. It is nicely built.

And I know more than I want to about fixing aircraft thanks. Five years in aviation repair. Helicopters in particular. I won't ride in one.
