Glad to finally see an unbiased review of the traction jacks. I'm interested to see them in the snow since that's what I'd use them for 90% of the time.

I had the same exact thing happen. Used 4low and rear locker but the one just cracked. Absolutely no reason it should have, but there's one issue. It was mid 30s and I used mine in snow. They actually say that they're not to be used with snow in the fine print.

Tred4x4 won't get back to me.

Did they honor it? Mine are the exact same 1100s and cracked in the same exact spot. I was going to zip tie stitch it because Tred4x4 won't get back to me.

Where did you read that? I just looked through the little manual they send with them and didn't see anything like that.

Unfortunately I read it in their warranty section after it was already broken.

Thanks, just went and found it. It says not suitable for below +23°F so you should still be fine on a warranty claim. I've used mine at -20°F and they haven't broken yet.

just searched for some reviews on these.

Is this the tred pro as well or only the 1100?
The somewhat cheaper price is making the tred pros a bit of a temptation over the maxtrax
but fuck I'm in canada, if they break in snow well wtf are they good for, for me then?

I'm not sure. The Pro is supposed to be a redesign of the old 1100 boards, but there hasn't been a ton of talk about these breaking in cold weather.
I know mine were at my door shipped for just over $100. My warranty request was honored (though without ANY communication at all) and I now have 2 good boards and 1 drift stitched board. I must say, they're still quite sturdy.

I would look into the Maxtrax or something that is more specifically designed for snow if I were in your situation.
The last thing you want is your recovery to fail because of an unexpected gear failure (which is why you need to test test test!)

Well Maxxtrax don't say much about snow either. Both companies are Aussie so they don't know what snow is lol.

I heard back from tred this morning. The pro is supposedly rated for snow now. Even says on their website

Maxtrax sold an Arctic version at one point. It was blue and supposed to be rated to -60° without breaking. The flipside is that it's not suitable for hot weather.

I managed to break a TRED this weekend recovering my truck out of some sticky mud. Warranty claim has been submitted so hopefully that works out.

It only took 3.5hrs from when I submitted the warranty request for it to be approved. Not too bad.

These guys are fast with their warranty service. They also sent a new pair of boards to replace the single one that broke.

    I use Gotreads personally

    I have used and owned
    Maxtrax and Traction Jack

I like the gotreads because two fit behind the passenger back seat, they are small yet super capable, and havent let me down yet!
100 bucks a pair, and cant go wrong. Blue ridge overland gear has a bag for them as well

Broke another TRED last weekend, cracked almost exactly like @PoweredBySoy posted above. A second has a visible stress crack in it that hasn't quite cracked all the way through. Warranty claim submitted on both so hopefully that works out. Either I keep getting bad ones or they're not really built for much use.
