First time I hit the water in the bay it literally knocked the wind out of me it was so cold. In freaking September. It hasn't had much of an appeal to me now. Either I have my wet suit. Or I'm a shore dweller.

Really? I used to stomp Malibu on rainy days year round. Manhattan I think has the nicest water in Cali. 75 degrees sometimes, accompanied by 90-100 degree weather, not too bad.

Everything from big sur north is like in the 40s. Not fun.
