    I've heard so many of those reviews and seen videos on youtube about them as well.
    What many of these guys seem to think is that their cheap multimeter has a fast enough sample rate to show that peak amp.
    Unless you're putting a full scope on them and monitoring peak inrush you will never see that 300+amp. Most multimeters measure in RMS (Root Mean Square) basically an average.
    The meters for testing that inrush are $800+ for a cheap one. I've only seen two of them and both were in trade school electronics class where we had to work on DC drives then measure and compare the inrush between starting with a DC Drive and a normal start. So unless these guys making these claims are electrical engineers or electricians that work on drives and DC motors a lot, I highly doubt they have one of those meters. Especially since they're specialty meters that only do that one thing. I have a $600 fluke clamp meter that still can't catch it. Either way, it works to boost so it does what is needed.
