2017, we left the dealer and they gave us 3 days to transfer everything from one vehicle to the next so we are under a time crunch

A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
Is it just the two of you doing this? What "HAS" to be moved and what can wait until you return his old one?

    Just us
Old one, Front bumper, grill, sliders, CB, radio, lights, roof rack, entire suspension, headlights, other misc electronics, the cargo box he built, skids, wheels, diff breather, whatever else I forgot.
So it is going back to stock form. So the one he bought we are removing all the same parts as the old and switching them. It all has to be done when he returns the old one.

Are you going to be able to do all that in 3 days? Not sure how I'd get up there but I could take a day off on Wednesday to help. If someone else could too, I could ride with them.

    Herpes, what do you recommend?

We don't have a choice. I think it's doable and to even have the new one assembled. We swapped front ends and bumpers which is a bitch since it doesn't have the nuts sticking out of the frame horns like the superior tacoma. Tomorrow after work we will do suspension and he will do most electronics while I'm working. Technically we have until Friday at 8 am. We rushed home and started impacting and removing the 80 plastics clips and rivets that hold the bumper on trying not to damage them.

The issue people have with KDSS is that it's a hydraulic sway bar disconnecting system, and there's lines running from the front axle, connected to the back axle. So in a nutshell your front and rear swaybars are connected with a couple lines and some hydraulic fluid. It uses the computer to determine when you're going slowly and the fluid moves back and forth between the front and rear to allow the swaybars to "unlock" (really to extend further than when on pavement).

It's not as good as a swaybar disconnect in the Rubicon, but it's 100% automated.

It also makes it a PITA to install a lift, but it can be done.

Also, the lines are run along the frame on the driver side, which get in the way of the lift, installing your sliders, and just eat up space in the front suspension due to extra components there.

I think the biggest lift you can run with a KDSS is a 2.5 or 3" lift. Perhaps Joe was wanting to go higher one day?

No Richardson, we are doing it at his house.
No but the KDSS really limits it to 1.5 to 2 inches and affects other things like rear diff skid can't be put on because it gets in the way and down travel.

    What is KDSS on.....what trim?
It seems like a strictly street type option.

It can come on the Trail Edition, and I think even the SR5. It DOESN'T Come on the Pro edition, because the Pro has a bit of a lift from the factory.

It's an extra $2000 option that is a hand me down from the Land Cruisers. There's a good youtube video of it working on a Land Cruiser.

It's really a pretty cool system, if you're leaving your truck stock.

@Overkill07 @NEWBIETACO I could probably get the boss to let me work remotely from wherever the 4Runners are located. I wouldn't be a bunch of help during the day (but I could make parts store runs and food runs), but I could help in the evenings. Also, more importantly, I could bring Warren to you guys.

I'd be willing to do it if Warren wants a ride up there.

I am confident we will get it done. My goal is to have them both complete. But I average 30-45 minutes per side if that for coilover removal X 4 about 2-3 hours for both fronts. Suspension is really the next big hurdle. Front bumper was rough but got it done tonight on both trucks. We both have impacts so removal should be pretty quick and he will work on some electronics tonight and we do suspension when I'm done working around 1-2 depends how I feel. Best part about this. New truck so everything is clean. Not a spec of Gilmer mud to be found on it yet. No dirt in the eye or stuck bolts. That part is great.

Yea I've yet to find a place as tough to clean off as the Gilmer mud. That stuff is like paint.

Great Lee. If they needs us, were here.
You know how to contact us if you need help.
If it is worse than Gilmer mud I'll pass.

    @NEWBIETACO You'll appreciate this.

I ordered a MXT90 alongside the new MXT105 radio unit because it was $65 on sale and I figured I'd try it out. I wired it up and it had a short in it so it kept popping fuses. I contacted the seller and they issued me a refund but said to just keep the radio and not bother returning it, so now I have an extra bracket and power connector. That's a sweet deal!
