    i'm installing the newest version of the Joying head unit. Android 5.1.1 lolipop, Curious if you need to have a antenna adaptor to plug in to the factory antenna. I have a 2008 Tacoma.

    I'm considering one. Reviews in 2016 gave knocks on Bluetooth issues with phones. Has Joying address this issue? I mainly would like to access the phone for phone calls(imagine that). Any experiences?

    Dont use phone on it much but never had a issue.

    Best part of a android radio is that you can put "KODI" on it!!!!!!!!

    I did yes, it is a nice feature. I'd say I'm overall fairly happy with it but it isn't perfect.
    My back up cam is working very well and hasn't missed a beat.
    It is perfectly fine for radio function and reception.
    I've had to reboot it a couple of times and restore factory settings then you have to go and change everything back to match preferences.
    It seems as though it is getting a bit clogged with my google settings once it gets logged into my google account (I'm sure somebody smart could figure out why).
    I use google maps for nav with it sync'd wireless to my cell phone and I really like that, nearly flawless but can be slow sometimes.
    Bluetooth is garbage...something to do with internal and external microphones not working together (maybe fixed with Joying now)
    Overall...would I do it again...yeah I think I would.

    I used Metra (I think that's the name) double din dash kit, trimming was a bit of a pain but take your time and it only needs to be done once. using the adapters it was plug and play, no antenna adapter required.

    just a tip, its better to you the Original Metal Bracket on the aftermarket unit then the Scosche plastic brackets that come with the bezel. Fits perfect!

    Yeah I had a feeling they just wanted it to be done with no concerns of it breaking or coming loose on their end. I'd rather have the metal.
