The tire touching the suspension is purely a result of wheel width and offset. It will rub on the wheel well if you tuck tire hard at full lock but that's about it.

All it means is it would take a bigger bump to create the same rubbing once he gets the suspension.

To be more specific, rubbing WITH the stock suspension installed on any point of the truck. It's going to rub the piss out of the UCAs, fender, inner lining, and cab mount. It'll rub even with aftermarket wheels unless you've gone full retard and have your wheels so offset they're running left of center when driving.

That would be 4.89" backspacing.
Stock backspace is 5".

Update: 285/75/16, 16x8 0mm offset wheels. No lift. Only rub was a small piece of plastic and it got trimmed real quick. Tomorrow is ICON stage 4 and CMC.

Sorry I couldn't get more/better pics. It's snowing pretty good and I honestly don't care. Haha.
