URD Supercharger - Real Numbers?

Hi everyone I am relatively new to the scene and am in the market for forced induction on my 4.0L. Since TRD Superchargers were discontinued, I found 2 others. Magnuson (which boasts 305hp 335 ft torque) at 6psi boost. Not bad. Then I stumbled across URD which I have to say their website has an extreme lack of info on their superchargers and their videos are literally just showing off a truck with their supercharger in it, no useful info at all. However these guys have more toyota parts than any other website and they seem to be well known. I have been going back and forth with the support guy over there asking questions. So basically here was his reply to my questions:

We talk wheel numbers because we have a chassis dyno, DynoJet 224xLC

The stock truck, 2005 Tacoma XRunner, normally dynos 205 RWHP stock.

The TRD/Magnuson dynos right around 240-250 RWHP with no mods. With intakes, full exhaust and the first pulley you can normally get near 300 RWHP. With the UCON-EMS, smaller pulley complete URD exhaust 330-350 and that is pretty much where they peter out.

The URD stage 1 normally dynos 340-360 RWHP (complete stock exhaust)

The URD Stage 2 normally dynos close to 400 RWHP

The URD Stage 3 normally dynos close to 430-450 RWHP

The last dyno on my XRunner on pump gas did 540 RWHP using the larger -91 supercharger and an 80mm pulley.
    -----END EMAIL------

Sounds way too good to be true. 40-60 hp just from supercharging sounds legit.

Their stage 2 kit is high flow exhaust, Y pipe, headers, 75mm pulley and a calibration file for their EMS system at the price of about $1200. They claim this adds another 40-60hp doubling the sc efficiency.

Their stage 3 is a 70mm pulley, 7th injector kit, and another calibration file for $500. They claim the 7th injector and 70mm pulley adds another 30 - 50 hp.

Total a stage 3 kit would cost $7500. So before I make any investment I am wondering if anyone here has a URD s/c kit stage 1, 2, or 3 and if it really pushes numbers like that. And if so, there has to be a cheaper way to upgrade to stage 3. I already have an exhaust with LT headers. I feel like the biggest difference is in the pulley going from 80mm to 70mm and the 7th injector, which if I just bought those 2 would be much cheaper. Any ideas on this? I'm afraid to get ripped off because their website doesn't offer any numbers or dyno charts at all and the email sounds a little fishy to me. Thank you for any help!

    It is legit.

~260 whp average actually, with a bare bones Magnuson. (No supporting modifications.)

Due to liter size , and efficiency. It is relatively small, liter wise.

I have dyno threads in the performance section. N/A and F/I. There are all sorts of dynos in there. As well as in my sig.

URD's kits, 100% pushes those numbers.

Turbo kits on this engine have similar Hp numbers per psi. Just higher torque. As a voucher to its validity.

This portion, is from the 4.3L stroker engine of theirs.

Best advice is to get the second to largest rotrex with the kit. That way you don't need to upgrade that later. Just upgrade the pulley when you are ready for more power. Much cheaper than the rotrex unit.

Thank you for the advice! I keep seeing a -91 with 80mm pulley being mentioned. I'll have to ask them about that.
That is a very impressive accomplishment on their part! It sounds like they rebuilt the top half of the engine though rather than just a s/c. The cylinders must have had some work done to dyno 539hp. I'm curious what all they did to the motor.

Wow! That kit is another $6,000. I think I will stick with the supercharger and stay under 500 horses. Very impressive though and thank you for the information
