Very interdasting indeed. Especially if the entire unit is easily removable.

No info on this one yet, but sounds more like our MO
    Coming soon – Survival Slide
Coming Soon, the Survival Slide Includes:
-Generator trays, cooking area, food and tool storage
    – Fuel containers, water storage, and ice coolers
    – Slide-in-and-out function so the unit can be stored when not in use

But timing-wise I am way behind on other need fundamental mods, plus we just put an offer on a new house. So...

I've come to notice over the last few weeks that Phil has some genius, next level internet power.

His posts, pics, humor, timing.. don't know if he's on a bender or if he was always this way, but it's been pretty entertaining.

Just wanted to introduce myself... I'm on my second Tacoma (first was a '98, bought from my dad). Its a '08 double cab, 4x4, non-TRD, Impulse Red, and camper shell, that I inherited from my dad when he passed away last month. I have always loved Tacoma's, could never afford a new one though. Plan to keep it until it dies...

Thanks for the welcome. It was hard losing my dad. We weren't super close, but I loved the guy and I know he loved me (when he passed, his wallet was full of pics of me when I was a kid). He was diagnosed with leukemia in October of last year and passed away the tail end of January. He loved Tacoma's, having owned 5 of them. I am glad to say that I got to have his first and last ones.

So got rear-ended today on my way to work. Left way later than I normally do so was stuck in horrible but normal commute traffic... was driving down treat blvd in Walnut Creek when I noticed this young kid in a jeep on the other side of the road, hazards on, panicking and on the phone. He was totally blocking traffic so I flipped a uturn and helped the kid outta the middle of the road and the at the time I'm thinking "please god don't let someone rear end him and crush me between my truck and his front bumper...." well, we didn't get rear ended and I survived that, jumped back in the truck, headed back down the road and the didn't make it TWO blocks before I got rear ended...

Came up to a light, which was green but traffic was backed up so I stopped before the crosswalk so I wouldn't get stranded in the middle of the intersection incase the light changed... as I'm slowing I look in my mirror and I see the woman behind me looking down in her lap (probably on her phone but not sure) and I just think... "she doesn't see me... shit she's going to hit me."

She wasn't going all that fast but I swear time slowed down. I just sat there thinking to myself what do I do? so I just looked forward to keep my neck straight, put my head back on the headrest, and eased ever so slightly on the brake so as to keep the truck from rolling all the way across the intersection but to let the energy from the crash push me forward instead of stomping on the brake and absorbing all the impact in a static position.

Overall not bad. I have one of @Overlanerd's old rear steel bumpers and it took it like a champ... my truck is totally fine but I'll take it to a shop later this week just to double check the frame.
Her car on the otherhand (chevy malabu) did not fare so well. My hitch went straight through her grill, and her hood is bent... she just kinda wedge up under the bumper a little bit. Luckily her radiator didn't look cracked and it was mostly cosmetic.

Oh well, no one was hurt and I'm not filing a claim unless my truck frame is bent so it was more of a startle than anything else! Her mistake just cause me a half hour out of my day and probably $2000 to get her own car fixed.

Almost sounds like what happened to me last month. Was out in traffic earlier than I ever am.

Also, not sure if I had updated on here. But I ended up getting all $1400 of my claim, my insurance company had waived my deductible before we found out the chick that hit me didn't have insurance so I get it all.

Of course that's all going to buying Kings! :taco:

His in-person awkwardness more than makes up for his interweb skillz :p

Funny, that's what my wife tells me every time she gets mad about me buying truck parts and not owning a house. Then I remind her I still need a RTT. Usually ends in eye rolling...

Thinking of ideas for this camo net. It's fucking MASSIVE.
    20170228_141955.jpg

Think I'm going to use it to cover my bed on the sides of the RTT and between the RTT and back window. Kinda like a bed cover. Boredom will do this I guess lol. Anybody have any other ideas? Also have an awning sorta thing in the works with some of it too
