Still seems like my best option without going to a 12.5" wide tire :notsure:. If I get ~30.7" (loaded) on my 265/75/16 that would still be an increase of around 1.5-1.7" (loaded) with these 34x10.5x17. If I round up thats an extra inch of ground clearance at the diffs and my ride should be better on rough pavement going to a D rated tire, from an E rated.

That's impressive if it's true. What speeds are you rolling on the highway? I'd imagine somewhat slow (50-60mph)? I'm getting about 14.5mpg combined. The truck is a PIG with these tires now. Definitely need to regear with this tire. No question.
    False.
That's exactly how I looked at it. I wanted something a little bigger than a 33 but didn't want it to be stupid wide. I've measured mine a few times for people and I keep coming up with 33.25" (on the truck) roughly.

Looks like that filled up the wheel well- how much lift are you running? Rubbing at all?

3" with Icons front and rear with the dakar pack. Haven't gotten a chance to wheel yet. Really hoping to get out there soon and find out. They BARELY touch the mudflap when turning the wheels left or right but it really is just grazing it.

Sure for you it's isn't false, for one your on a factory wheel (narrow) and you probably running high tire pressure just a guess by your tire bulge.

My pressure should be standard. Happy to go check the exact number if you're really interested. In any event, all tires would exhibit similar sag due to pressure discrepancies. The rim width does impact it a little but I wouldn't think it would reduce it by a full 1.25" or more like you're saying. That's a LOT.

I do 5mph over the speed limit but keep it under 70mph. I'm also a stick shift which has an oversize tire friendly .85 overdrive. I also compute my mileage with a gps since the tires throw off the odometer

Ahhhh gotcha. So you're getting a slight gearing advantage AND factoring in the odometer discrepancy since you're using GPS. My 14.5pmg average is calculated using the odometer which I know is reporting less than actual. It's an 11.1% difference (bigger) over the stock size. Meaning, I'd need to add 11.1% onto my mileage to get a "proper" fuel economy rating. So that puts me about 16.1mpg combined. Hoping it will improve by a large margin once I regear! :D

Just a quick comment, as I don't understand why these tires, in this size, are constantly specifically picked out for being smaller then 34" when mounted up. The reality is, basically every tire is going to be smaller when mounted. The weight of the truck simply compresses the tire and theres no way around it. Before these tires, I had 35" Goodyear MTRs w/ Kevlar. Mounted up, they measured about 33.5. Now maybe LR D compresses a little more then LR E, but either way you're gonna see the tire compress when mounted on the truck. So far, I love these tires, I don't understand why they get such a bad rep for being smaller when mounted.

    That's what I was thinking.

If a trail says they want you to have 33's and these are 33.5" unloaded but under 33" when loaded, do I satisfy that requirement?

A 2" difference is pretty big. I have purchased 35's that work out to be 34's and change... even 33's that are more like 32.25 or 32.50. But a 2" difference is more than normal imo. When you purchase a 34 you expect at least a 33 mounted and weighted. I have had 2 sets of these tires and I researched and knew they were 32 or so... and that is what I wanted.

In fairness to what you are saying... people who don't research the mounted/weighted size before spending this kind of money are idiots.. so if they complain it is on them.

How many of those 35s were load range D and 10.5" wide though? These tires are a border-line "skinnies" and not much wider then what a skinny tire is. That just means less tire to distribute the weight. I see what you mean but I still don't get why these specific tires in this specific size gets such a bad rep. I agree that most don't do the proper research before hand and thats on them, but most of the complaints I see are people complaining that these tires aren't 34" when mounted up. And like I said, every tire compresses under weight.
