I'm going to punch a hole for 2m up near the front and leave my CB on the bedrack. If I run APRS off of my hand held I'll just pick up a mag mount for that.

Edit: deciding on a roof rack also, that might keep me from roof mounting.

That's what I was thinking the washers could substitute as. I've already drilled a ton of holes in the bed, so that's not my worry. I'd just be pissed if I pulled a track and stuff shifted around when it wasn't supposed to.

What are you getting for HAM? Honey-glazed or sweet & spicy?

Yup, just drilled holes and put a 1.25" washer on the back. I didn't drill at every whole every other I think. but it holds just fine, never even had any deflection when really ratchet-strapping something down. really pleased at how they turned out. do kind of wish i'd have put one at the front and back of the bed as well as some on the rails, but they still work great.

edit: after looking at my pics actually I did drill for every hole because I was worried about them not holding under extreme stress... well it worked IMO.

Are they held down with a nut/washer on the underside or just with screws?

Sometimes prim and proper can be more fun than hot and nasty. And sometimes what you think is prim and proper is REALLY hot and nasty!

Damn. Everyone seems to have gotten one of these patches recently. Did I miss a GB for them?

It's offered to the ones on my build. I'll be happy to send you one so pm me an address they are going fast.

Since you're limited I'll hold off on grabbing one from you so others can get them. I will be checking out your build thread though. Thanks for the heads up!

Cleaned up the HAM setup a little bit today. Rerouted the wire through the rear passenger window rather than the back so that it can be closed as needed. Ran the antenna wire behind the interior trim and up through the center consol/shift trim. I then just used a couple self tapping screws w/ washers and clipped the radio to it. May not be ideal, but it's tucked away and no longer sitting on the seat. I still need to get a clip for the mic, as it is clipped to the CB one for now.
